🎼 На Мальте прошёл концерт «Новое поколение»

28 июня на Мальте состоялся концерт «Новое поколение», объединивший молодых исполнителей, российских соотечественников и любителей классической музыки.

Среди почётных гостей мероприятия – Чрезвычайный и Полномочный Посол Российской Федерации в Республике Мальта Андрей Георгиевич Лопухов с супругой.

Особым моментом вечера стало выступление молодого исполнителя Майкла Велла Гатта, имеющего русско-мальтийские корни.
На русском языке он исполнил песню «Как молоды мы были», подарив зрителям один из самых трогательных моментов концерта.

К проведению мероприятия присоединился КСОРС Мальты. По его инициативе 10 билетов были переданы ученикам курсов русского языка при Русском доме, чтобы они смогли познакомиться с миром классической музыки и стать частью этого культурного события.

Концерт стал не только музыкальным вечером, но и площадкой для общения соотечественников, подтвердив, что культура и искусство продолжают объединять людей, укрепляя связь с русским языком и общими традициями.

The article, published in the Maltese weekly newspaper It-Torċa on 12 July 2026, highlights the celebration of Russia Day, the address delivered by H.E. Ambassador Andrey Lopukhov, and the enduring ties of friendship between the peoples of Russia and Malta.

RUSSIAN FEDERATION DAY – 12 JUNE 1990

Exactly 36 years ago, on 12 June 1990, Russia proclaimed its sovereignty as a federal state by adopting its own Constitution and establishing the supremacy of its laws throughout the territory of the Russian Federation. It marked the beginning of a new historical era for Russia and the birth of a modern state emerging from a great nation.

Every year, magnificent celebrations take place in Red Square, one of the most beautiful squares in the world, which I personally never tire of visiting and admiring for its grandeur, reflecting the greatness of the Russian nation.
On this occasion, President Vladimir Putin traditionally presents state decorations to Russian citizens who have distinguished themselves during the year and brought honour to their country. These awards recognise achievements across every sphere of life – from science, literature and the arts to individuals who have devoted themselves to charitable work and public service.

Russia Day is also celebrated annually at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Malta, where the Ambassador of Russia to Malta, H.E. Andrey Lopukhov, addresses guests gathered for this important occasion.
This year, the Ambassador opened his speech by paying tribute to the Russian nation, which is home to hundreds of different ethnic communities and followers of many religious traditions, united within a single federal state.
He reflected on Russia's history, noting that throughout the centuries the country has faced tremendous trials and repeatedly fought to defend its freedom, independence and security. These struggles often demanded enormous sacrifices, including the lives of countless people. Yet, despite these hardships, Russia has never been brought to its knees and has always continued moving forward.

Today, Russia continues to develop economically and in many other fields, thanks to its human potential, while the prosperity of the nation continues to grow and benefit its people.

The Ambassador also referred to the challenges Russia faces today, stressing that despite external pressure from the West, the country remains united and resilient, confident that, just as in the past, the truth will ultimately prevail.

His address was firm, yet at the same time hopeful, expressing the sincere wish that friendship and diplomatic relations between nations should once again prevail.

He concluded with the following words:

"We are confident that Russia's international relations will continue to develop steadily. In this context, we regard our historic ties of friendship as the foundation of our approach to building relations with our foreign partners. The enduring nature and quality of these ties will prevail, and we are confident that this applies to all countries – including Malta."

The Ambassador went on to note:

"We are regularly approached by many Maltese citizens who express a sincere wish to see the strong historical ties between our countries revived and strengthened once again. I can assure you that this aspiration is fully shared by our side as well."

The Ambassador thanked all those present at the reception, including distinguished guests, members of the Russian community and Maltese friends who joined the celebration.

To mark this important occasion, the Embassy hosted a festive reception, where guests came together to celebrate Russia Day in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
