🇯🇴 🇷🇺 On August 21, 1963, diplomatic relations were established between the USSR and the Hashemite Kingdom of #Jordan. Russia and Jordan have long-standing traditionally friendly relations based on proximity or coincidence of approaches on key international and regional issues. Close coordination of actions between our countries on the world stage is a significant factor that has a positive impact on the processes taking place in the #MiddleEast and North #Africa.

Our countries are aimed at overcoming the crisis phenomena in the Persian #Gulf region and ensuring stability in this part of the Middle East. Regular contacts are maintained, including at the level of foreign ministers.

On December 17, the Foreign Minister Sergey #Lavrov had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of #Egypt Sameh #Shoukry.

During the conversation, issues of further development of traditionally friendly Russian-Egyptian relations were discussed. Considerable attention was paid to the prospects for expanding cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy, industry, agriculture, and the implementation of major joint projects.

The foreign ministers exchanged views on topical aspects of the situation in the #MiddleEast and North #Africa. Mutual interest in strengthening cooperation on topical international and regional issues, including in the UN, was confirmed.
