On June 8, the Russian House in Dhaka, jointly with the youth organization Youth Parliament, held an event on the eve of Russian Youth Day.
Pavel Dvoychenkov, Director of the Russian House in Dhaka, spoke about the activities of the Russian House for cooperation between Russia and Bangladesh in the fields of science, culture and education, Russian language courses at the Russian House for higher education in Russia, the New Generation program for short-term training of young scientists.
The participants of the event discussed the prospects for youth cooperation and a number of joint initiatives with the Russian House in Dhaka.

В своем приветственном слове Посол России в Бангладеш А.В.Мантыцкий рассказал об истории и смысле праздника, озвучил приоритеты российской внешней политики.

It is necessary to consider the creation of a single public database (register) of crimes of the colonial period, as well as modern neocolonial practices, at the UN, and work out a scale to evaluate the damage caused by war crimes committed on their territory.

We believe that the payment of compensations to the victims of neocolonial practices should be based on clear, legally considered and substantiated evidence. The world is changing rapidly. More countries are striving to strengthen their sovereignty, self-sufficiency, and national and cultural identity. The countries of the Global South and East are gaining prominence. Since the Soviet times, we have always acknowledged the importance of these regions, but today the dynamics have completely shifted, and this is becoming increasingly evident.
This new political and economic reality now serves as the foundation for the emerging multipolar and multilateral world order, and this is an inevitable process.
The West not only undermined the world’s military-political stability by its actions. It has compromised and weakened the key market institutions by its sanctions and trade wars. Using the IMF and the World Bank and twisting the climate agenda, it has been restraining the development of the Global South.
Russia did not start the war in Ukraine. It was the Kiev regime that initiated hostilities. If we do not recognise the right of peoples to declare their independence, then this is indeed aggression. Those who have supported the Kiev regime’s war machine over the years are, therefore, accomplices to this aggression.
It is expected that the conference in Switzerland will avoid addressing the fundamental issues underlying the current crisis in international security and stability, including the true roots of the Ukrainian conflict. Despite efforts to present a seemingly respectable agenda, these critical matters are unlikely to be discussed.
It is impossible to reach a peaceful solution to the Ukraine crisis and to overall European security without Russia’s participation, without an honest and responsible dialogue with us.
Today, we are presenting another concrete and genuine peace proposal. If Kiev and Western capitals reject it again, as they have done before, then ultimately, it becomes their responsibility, both political and moral, for the ongoing bloodshed.
The essence of our proposal is not a temporary truce or ceasefire, as the West might prefer, to allow the Kiev regime to recover, rearm, and prepare for a new offensive. I repeat: we are not discussing freezing the conflict, but its definitive resolution.

🕯 June 22 marks the Day of Memory and Sorrow in Russia.
At dawn on June 2️⃣2️⃣, 1941, enemy aviation launched massive attacks on airfields, railway stations, Soviet naval bases and numerous cities along the entire western state border to a depth of up to 250-300 km.
This opened one of the most tragic chapters in our country’s history. The Great Patriotic War broke out.
Hitler had a lightning war in mind. Operation Barbarossa implied a crushing defeat of the Red Army and the defeat of the Soviet Union within a few months with the help of the hitherto faultless blitzkrieg tactics.
Romania, Italy and other countries joined Germany to form a united front against the Soviet Union.
However, the Red Army’s fierce resistance and the efforts of all Soviet people foiled the Third Reich’s plans.
🎙 The news about German invasion and the beginning of the war was announced over the radio. At noon on June 22 the People’s Commissar for Foreign Affairs V.Molotov addressed the Soviet citizens with a phrase that went down in history:
“Ours is a righteous cause. The enemy shall be defeated. Victory will be ours”.
The Great Patriotic War lasted 1418 days and nights and ended on May 9, 1945 with the victory of the Soviet Union and the complete rout of the Nazi bloc.
❗️ The Soviet people perished amounts to 40% of all human losses in WWII, i.e. 26.6 million people! Of them, more than 8.7 million died in combat, 7.42 million were intentionally exterminated by the Nazis in the occupied territories, and over 4.1 million died from the atrocious conditions of the occupation regime.
• Since 2009, the day marked by the Candle of Memory nationwide action. Candles are lit throughout Russia in the silence of the night in memory of all those who died during the Great Patriotic War protecting our peaceful life.
Since 2020, an annual nationwide minute of silence has been held at 12:15 Moscow time the exact time when the Soviet government announced Nazi Germany’s invasion.

This opened one of the most tragic chapters in our country’s history. The Great Patriotic War broke out.
Hitler had a lightning war in mind. Operation Barbarossa implied a crushing defeat of the Red Army and the defeat of the Soviet Union within a few months with the help of the hitherto faultless blitzkrieg tactics.
Romania, Italy and other countries joined Germany to form a united front against the Soviet Union.
However, the Red Army’s fierce resistance and the efforts of all Soviet people foiled the Third Reich’s plans.
🎙 The news about German invasion and the beginning of the war was announced over the radio. At noon on June 22 the People’s Commissar for Foreign Affairs V.Molotov addressed the Soviet citizens with a phrase that went down in history:
“Ours is a righteous cause. The enemy shall be defeated. Victory will be ours”.
The Great Patriotic War lasted 1418 days and nights and ended on May 9, 1945 with the victory of the Soviet Union and the complete rout of the Nazi bloc.
❗️ The Soviet people perished amounts to 40% of all human losses in WWII, i.e. 26.6 million people! Of them, more than 8.7 million died in combat, 7.42 million were intentionally exterminated by the Nazis in the occupied territories, and over 4.1 million died from the atrocious conditions of the occupation regime.
• Since 2009, the day marked by the Candle of Memory nationwide action. Candles are lit throughout Russia in the silence of the night in memory of all those who died during the Great Patriotic War protecting our peaceful life.
Since 2020, an annual nationwide minute of silence has been held at 12:15 Moscow time the exact time when the Soviet government announced Nazi Germany’s invasion.
