The way the Western leaders, politicians and media have responded to the news of Alexei Navalny's death has once again revealed their hypocrisy, cynicism and lack of principles. This is the “blame Russia first” approach in action. With a prepped script ready for every situation.
Let's look at the timeline. 👇
Today at approximately 2:19 pm, the website operated by the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area reported the death of convict Alexey Navalny in Prison Colony No. 3.
Literally 15 minutes later, a flurry of carbon-copy accusations poured in:
- 2:35 pm, Tobias Billström: “Terrible news about Navalny. If the information about his death in a Russian prison is confirmed, it will be another heinous crime by Putin's regime”;
- 2:35 pm, Barth Eide: “I’m deeply saddened by the news of Navalny's death. The Russian government bears a heavy burden of responsibility for this”;
- 2:41 pm, Edgars Rinkevics: “Whatever your thoughts about Alexei Navalny as a politician, he was just brutally murdered by the Kremlin. That's a fact and that is something one should know about the true nature of Russia's current regime”;
- 2:50 pm, Jan Lipavsky: “Russia still treats foreign policy issues the same way it treats its citizens. It has turned into a violent state that kills people who dream of a beautiful, better future, such as Nemtsov and now Navalny, who was imprisoned and tortured to death”;
- 2:51 pm, Stéphane Séjourné: “Navalny paid with his life to fight against a system of oppression. His death in a penal colony reminds us of the realities of Vladimir Putin's regime”;
- 3:02 pm, Charles Michel: “The EU holds the Russian regime solely responsible for this tragic death”;
- 3:10 pm Kiev regime kingpin Zelensky: “Clearly, he was killed by Putin, like thousands of others who were tortured to death”;
- 3:16 pm (media), 4:50 pm (social media), Jens Stoltenberg: “We need to establish all the facts, and Russia needs to answer all the questions”;
- 3:20 pm, Mark Rutte: “Navalny's death once again bears witness to the immense brutality of the Russian regime”;
- 3:30 pm, Maia Sandu: “Navalny's death in a Russian prison is a reminder of the regime's egregious suppression of dissent”;
- 3:35 pm, Annalena Baerbock: “Like no one else, Alexei Navalny was a symbol for a free and democratic Russia. That is precisely the reason he had to die”;
- 3:43 pm, Ursula von der Leyen: “A grim reminder of what Putin and his regime are all about”;
- 3:49 pm, Ulf Kristersson: “The Russian authorities, and President Putin personally, are responsible for Alexei Navalny no longer being alive”;
- 3:14 pm, Olaf Scholz: “He has now paid for this courage with his life. This terrible news demonstrates once again how Russia has changed and what kind of regime is in power in Moscow”;
- 3:25 pm, Antony Blinken: “Beyond that, his death in a Russian prison and the fixation and fear of one man only underscores the weakness and rot at the heart of the system that Putin has built. Russia bears responsibility for this”;
- 5:28 pm, Emmanuel Macron: “In today's Russia, free spirits are put in the Gulag and sentenced to death”;
Within a short period of time, two hours as a matter of fact (starting at 2:19 pm), Western politicians and their subordinate media managed, it appears, to get the results of a forensic examination that has yet to take place, to investigate, to indict Moscow and to render a verdict.
There is no explanation other than to assume these responses were prepared in advance.
Perhaps we could believe this unbelievable, seemingly miraculous swiftness had the whole world not witnessed the months-long, toothless “investigation” into the terrorist attacks on the Nord Stream pipelines, which fizzled out eventually.
What distinguishes all these statements is the glaring absence of even a suggestion of perhaps... waiting until the results of a forensic examination and investigation are available.

❗️ Main points of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s statements:
▪️ Millions of Ukrainians feel at home in Russia;
▪️ The West is definitely helping direct Ukrainian strikes against Russian targets, it is involved in the war against Russia;
▪️ Zelensky's "peace formula" is nothing more than nonsense;
▪️ The West is trying to "charm" global majority countries into joining Zelensky's "peace formula";
▪️ The EU is driven by plans to supply Kiev with long-range weapons that would reach the "heart of Russia";
▪️ Russia hopes that Colombia realizes the danger of the situation involving Colombian mercenaries in Ukraine;
▪️ Everyone needs to understand the value of neutrality sooner rather than later, and mercenarism needs to be fought;
▪️ US society lives in a complete information blockade, Putin's interview with Tucker Carlson revealed this;
▪️ Normalization of relations between Russia and the West is no longer Moscow's problem, the limit of kind gestures from the Russian side has been reached;
▪️ The ball is not in Russia's court on the issue of dialogue with Ukraine, first Zelensky should revoke the decree banning negotiations with Moscow;
▪️ It is unacceptable for Russia to add another Western representative to the permanent members of the UN Security Council;
▪️ It is unrealistic to give up the veto right in the UN Security Council, as without it the structure would be useless.

Putin’s predictions from 2007 Munich speech: what did Russia’s president get right?
Today marks the start of the Munich Security Conference, an annual gathering of Western defense and security elites looking to hang on to the US unipolar moment for as long as possible. Speaking at the conference in 2007, Vladimir Putin signaled Russia’s desire for greater multipolarity in world affairs. Here are his top points:
🔻The unipolar world order that the US and its allies constructed was fundamentally undemocratic, “pernicious not only to all those within this system, but also for the sovereign itself because it destroys itself from within.”
🔻Unipolarity is the source of “new human tragedies,” including devastating wars and regional conflicts, Putin said, pointing to an almost unrestrained “hyper use of military force” in international relations, with the US in particular “overstepping” its national borders in every conceivable way.
🔻Putin pointed to the rise of new centers of power in the forms of the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China).
🔻The Russian president highlighted the threat of a global arms race and the militarization of outer space.
🔻Putin criticized US proposals for missile defense in Europe, seeing through Washington’s claim that these systems were intended to defend against North Korean missiles, suggesting that for the DPRK to launch nukes at the US through Europe would be “like using the right hand to reach the left ear.”
🔻Putin bashed NATO for refusing to ratify the 1999 Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe, and criticized the alliance for putting “frontline forces on our borders,” even as Russia continued to “strictly fulfill the treaty obligations and not react to these actions at all.”

⚡️ Briefing by Chief of Nuclear, Chemical and Biological Protection Troops of the Armed Forces of Russia Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov on violations of Chemical Weapons Convention by US and Ukraine (February 19, 2024)
☣️ According to OPCW timelines, the US should have completed the destruction of declared chemical weapons stockpiles in 2007, but despite its economic capacity, it did so only in 2023, twice postponing the deadline on the pretext of financial, organisational, and technical difficulties.
▪️ Washington retains significant interest in the use of chemical riot control as a warfighting tool. <...> The transfer of non-lethal chemical weapons to third countries (Iraq, Afghanistan, Ukraine) is further evidence of the US' violation of the Convention.
❗️During the special military operation, cases of the use of US chemical munitions by the AFU were recorded. <...> Ukraine, with the complicity of Western countries, is not limiting itself to the use of non-lethal chemicals, actively using scheduled chemicals.
▪️ According to available information, the Kiev regime, with the assistance of Western curators, is developing new tactics for conducting combat operations using a 'special chemical belt'. It involves detonating tanks of hydrocyanic acid and ammonia as Russian troops advance.
👉Plans for the large-scale use of toxic substances are evidenced by Ukraine's requests for antidotes, gas masks, and other personal protective equipment.
***
▪️ Despite the fact that the Organisation's activities presuppose equal rights of participants, in November 2023, for the first time since the signing of the Convention, Russia was essentially 'expelled' from the OPCW Executive Council. We were replaced by Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania, countries that have a clear anti-Russian policy and have never had chemical weapons.
☝️Thus, another international platform was formed, the activity of which is fully controlled by the US and used by them for settling political accounts with undesirable countries

BP, Shell, Chevron, ExxonMobil and TotalEnergies are the main beneficiaries of the Ukrainian conflict
The world's five largest oil and gas companies are the "main winners in the conflict" in Ukraine - not directly, but at the expense of soaring hydrocarbon prices, according to a study by the non-governmental human rights organization Global Witness.
The organization calculated the profits of the majors starting from February 2022. It turned out that the profit is quite substantial. Thus, British Shell and BP received a total of $94 billion - enough to close the accounts of all households in the UK for almost a year and a half.
American Chevron and ExxonMobil, which were counted together with the French TotalEnergies - $187 billion since the beginning of the Special Military Operation in Ukraine.

Vladimir Putin met with Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu. Key points:
🔹 The situation in Avdeyevka is apparently a success that needs to be expanded. But it must be well prepared with the proper number of personnel and the appropriate amount of weaponry, military hardware and munitions.
🔹 All the military units and service personnel that were engaged in taking Avdeyevka acted heroically and deserve top decorations, awards and words of gratitude.
🔹 The liberation of the village of Krynki on Dnieper’s left bank is also a job well-done.
🔹 We have always acted and should act with regard to POWs in strict compliance with international law and conventions.
🔹 As for the deployment of nuclear weapons in outer space that the West has been talking about lately, our position is clear and transparent: we have always categorically opposed this. We urge all parties to honour all nuclear weapons agreements; we have repeatedly suggested stepping up this joint work.
🔹 We have never been against holding talks. This is true for both Ukraine and for strategic stability in the world. We do not rule anything out, and we will not give away anything, but we have to sort out what the Western nations actually want. They generally want unilateral advantage, but they won't get it.
See more on the Kremlin’s official website.

Message by H.E. Mr Alexander Mantytskiy, Ambassador of Russia to Bangladesh, on the occasion of the International Mother Language Day
Today the world marks the International Mother Language Day to celebrate richness and diversity of languages that lie at the core of our cultural identities and national heritage.
The struggle for the right to speak freely, study and use one’s mother tongue has been an inalienable part of nation building worldwide, as illustrated by the movement against apartheid in South Africa in the second half of the 20th century, the resistance against persecution of the Russian-speaking population in Donbass since 2014 and, certainly, the fight for freedom of Bengalis living in the then East Pakistan that emerged from the student protests of 21 February, 1952.
Bangladesh initiative to introduce the International Mother Language Day is highly commendable. Today we are reminded how precious our native languages are, what sacrifices were made so that modern generations could speak them.
The diplomats are well aware of the importance of each other’s native languages. If you want to better understand your foreign counterpart – learn his or her language. Working in different countries and regions, encountering many languages, we see that without linguistic diversity, the cultural fabric of the global society would be flat and dull.
Congratulations on the International Mother Language Day!
