📎 Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on the transfer of foreign assets to temporary management of Russia’s Federal Agency for State Property Management (Rosimushchestvo) if Russian assets abroad are seized.

German energy company Uniper’s shares in its Russian subsidiary Unipro and shares in Russian subsidiaries of Finnish energy company Fortum are among foreign assets that can be transferred to Rosimushchestvo, the document says.

"In connection with the need to take urgent measures in response to the unfriendly and illegal (contrary to international law) actions of the United States and foreign states and international organizations joining them, aimed at the illegal deprivation of the Russian Federation, Russian legal entities, and individuals of their property rights, Putin signed a decree on retaliatory measures in the case of the seizure of Russian assets abroad—the transfer of foreign assets to temporary management."

🎙Embassy statement on the transfer of depleted uranium weapons by the United Kingdom to the Kiev regime

On April 25 the Minister of State at the UK Ministry of Defence James Heappey confirmed that the Ukrainian side is being supplied with armour-piercing shells with a "core" of depleted uranium.

He cynically stated that London is not monitoring the deployment of these weapons and has no obligation to eliminate the consequences of their use following the end of the conflict.

James Heappey’s comments are a grim testament to the ruthlessness of the Anglo-Saxons’ policy of an all-out escalation of the "proxy conflict" they themselves unleashed in Ukraine.

We call on the British authorities not to indulge in illusory hopes that they will be able to get off scot-free by making the armed forces of Ukraine accountable for the toxic ammunition now at their disposal.

London will not succeed in shifting blame to its Kiev clients for their crimes.

📷 Remembering the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster

International Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day is observed annually in memory of those who lost their lives in the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in the city of Pripyat, the then Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic on April 26, 1986.

Today, the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant is still undergoing decommissioning, with the process expected to take decades. The surrounding area remains largely abandoned, with only a few hundred people living within the exclusion zone.

🎙 Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova’s answer to a media question on a telephone conversation between President of China Xi Jinping and President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky

Question: The leaders of China and Ukraine had a telephone conversation. It is common knowledge that Kiev has requested such a conversation for a long time. What do you think of this? Could this provide a positive impetus to resolving the situation in Ukraine?

💬 We have noted Chinese efforts to initiate a negotiating process. We see general similarity between our principled approaches and the provisions of the policy document published by the Chinese Foreign Ministry on February 24, 2023.

At the same time, we believe that the problem lies not in a shortage of good plans. So far, the Kiev regime is openly rejecting any reasonable initiative to settle the Ukraine crisis through political and diplomatic approaches. Moreover, it links its possible consent to negotiate with ultimatums containing a priori unrealistic demands.

Ukraine’s authorities and their Western handlers have already shown their ability to delay any peace initiative. They openly admit that the Minsk agreements were needed only to gain time to build offensive potential. In the spring of 2022, Kiev unexpectedly rejected the virtually completed peace agreements reached by the sides at Kiev’s proposal. Vladimir Zelensky even signed legislation banning any talks with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

👉 So, these Washington-controlled puppets can hardly adequately respond to any calls for peace.

🗓 On April 28, 2004, the CBS show 60 Minutes aired a story of how US military personnel abused inmates at the infamous Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.

Following the essentially unprovoked invasion of Iraq conducted under a false pretext by Washington and its allies in 2003, this prison outside Baghdad was used as the main holding facility for Iraqis who were accused of crimes against the armed forces of the Western coalition.

As you may be aware, after September 11, 2001, the United States legalised torture “technology” against terrorist suspects which was widely used both in the concentration camp deployed at Guantanamo Bay and the special CIA prisons around the world.

❗️In this regard, Abu Ghraib was a test site where inmates were subjected to a rash of beatings, waterboarding, rape and dog baiting. They were tortured with sound attacks and sleep and food deprivation and subjected to torture with electric shock and other physical and psychological humiliations. The imprisoned Iraqis who the US soldiers did not see as humans were badly maimed if they were lucky enough to walk away free and alive.

Despite the wide spread information about torture at Abu Ghraib thanks in part to an investigation conducted by independent American journalist Seymour Hersh, among others, only 11 US military personnel were found guilty, most of whom were given short custodial sentences.

At the same time, high-ranking government officials and Pentagon officers were never held accountable despite the widely available evidence of their involvement in torture-related crimes.

The atrocities at Abu Ghraib epitomise the US’s selective approaches and double standards when it comes to human rights matters. This is a systematic practice, as can be seen from the inhumane treatment of detainees at Guantanamo Bay, which remains operational to this day, despite the international community’s multiple calls to close it down.

❗️The West's true goal in the conflict in Ukraine to inflict strategic defeat on Russia, create threat to China, maintain monopoly position in the world, Shoigu says

💬 "Today, Washington and its accomplices are implementing their strategic plan, which consists in provoking other countries into a military confrontation with ... primarily with Russia and China. A clear confirmation of such a criminal policy is the conflict in Ukraine. Its true goal is to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia, threaten China and maintain its monopoly position in the world," Sergey Shoigu said at a regular defense ministers' meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states.

The US seeks to reformat the system of interstate relations by creating controlled regional alliances, using blackmail and threats, the minister added.
