Medvedev replied to the question: "How do you assess the progress of the special military operation?": This is a difficult question, as it's ongoing. I can only say that I am absolutely sure that all the goals set by the President for the implementation of the SMO will be achieved. Today we are opposed not by the Ukrainian army, but by the entire North Atlantic Alliance. This is, indeed, a proxy war that the Western world is conducting against our state. Therefore, we have to fight with the whole of NATO, bearing in mind the supply of weapons, and frankly, the training of Ukrainian servicemen, and a lot of other factors. And this is a very, very difficult task. Therefore, it is obvious that we must do everything to win this war.

⚡️Climate change issues are nothing compared to the prospect of being at the epicenter of a nuclear explosion, Medvedev said.
"Is there such a prospect today? Alas, yes. And it is growing every day for well-known reasons," said the deputy chairman of the Security Council.

🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the results of his meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
📍 New York, April 25, 2023
💬 The meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres lasted over an hour. We considered the current issues on the UN agenda.
Antonio Guterres focused on the prospects for the further implementation of the Black Sea Initiative in the context of his own proposal, which was introduced and approved on July 22, 2022.
As he said himself, this is a package that includes assistance for exporting Ukrainian grain from Ukrainian ports and an identical commitment to the Russian Federation in that it concerns the removal of all obstacles to exporting Russian grain, primarily wheat, and fertilisers, created by the Western countries (primarily the United States, the EU, and the UK).
The Secretary-General described his efforts at promoting the Russian part of the deal as much as possible. So far, the progress has not been obvious. He expressed his considerations in a letter explaining the ideas on the further course of actions. This letter requires a thorough review.
Thus far, we do not see the Western countries’ desire to carry out what is necessary for the successful implementation of the Secretary-General’s initiative on the package approach to exporting agriculture products from Ukraine and the Russian Federation.
We will study his latest ideas now that we have them in black and white.

📎 Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on the transfer of foreign assets to temporary management of Russia’s Federal Agency for State Property Management (Rosimushchestvo) if Russian assets abroad are seized.
German energy company Uniper’s shares in its Russian subsidiary Unipro and shares in Russian subsidiaries of Finnish energy company Fortum are among foreign assets that can be transferred to Rosimushchestvo, the document says.
"In connection with the need to take urgent measures in response to the unfriendly and illegal (contrary to international law) actions of the United States and foreign states and international organizations joining them, aimed at the illegal deprivation of the Russian Federation, Russian legal entities, and individuals of their property rights, Putin signed a decree on retaliatory measures in the case of the seizure of Russian assets abroad—the transfer of foreign assets to temporary management."

🎙Embassy statement on the transfer of depleted uranium weapons by the United Kingdom to the Kiev regime
▪On April 25 the Minister of State at the UK Ministry of Defence James Heappey confirmed that the Ukrainian side is being supplied with armour-piercing shells with a "core" of depleted uranium.
▪He cynically stated that London is not monitoring the deployment of these weapons and has no obligation to eliminate the consequences of their use following the end of the conflict.
▪James Heappey’s comments are a grim testament to the ruthlessness of the Anglo-Saxons’ policy of an all-out escalation of the "proxy conflict" they themselves unleashed in Ukraine.
▪We call on the British authorities not to indulge in illusory hopes that they will be able to get off scot-free by making the armed forces of Ukraine accountable for the toxic ammunition now at their disposal.
▪London will not succeed in shifting blame to its Kiev clients for their crimes.

📷 Remembering the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster
International Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day is observed annually in memory of those who lost their lives in the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in the city of Pripyat, the then Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic on April 26, 1986.
Today, the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant is still undergoing decommissioning, with the process expected to take decades. The surrounding area remains largely abandoned, with only a few hundred people living within the exclusion zone.
