🎙 From President Vladimir Putin's statement for the media following the Russian-Chinese talks

📍 Moscow, March 21, 2023

Read in full

🇷🇺🇨🇳 The Russian-Chinese relations are at the highest level in all our history, offering a model of a genuine comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation.

• When discussing topical international and regional problems, the President and I affirmed that Russia and China’s views on them are identical or very close.

Russia and China strongly oppose any state or bloc seeking to harm the legitimate interests of any other country in order to obtain military, political and economic advantages.

• Of course, we did not ignore developments around Ukraine. We believe that many of the provisions of the peace plan put forward by China are consonant with Russian approaches and can be taken as the basis for a peaceful settlement when the West and Kiev are ready for it. However, so far, we have not seen such readiness on their part.

❗️ It seems that the West really has decided to fight Russia to the last Ukrainian – no longer in words, but in deeds. But in this regard, I would like to note that if all this comes to pass, then Russia will have to respond accordingly. What I mean is that the collective West is already starting to use weapons with a nuclear component.

• We jointly work to create a more just and democratic multipolar world order.

• Of course, trade and economic cooperation remain a priority for us, considering that China has solidly established itself as the leading foreign trade partner for our country. Last year, trade increased by 30 percent to set a new record of $185 billion.

• As of the end of the first three quarters of 2022, the share of the ruble and yuan in mutual commercial transactions reached 65 percent and continues to grow.

🇷🇺🇨🇳Joint Russo-Chinese Statement: US Biowarfare Activities, AUKUS Submarines & Prospects of Nuclear War
Moscow and Beijing have issued a joint statement on a number of poignant geopolitical issues, making this move amid the ongoing visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping to Russia.
The two world powers have declared their intent to help protect one another’s “core interests,” such as “sovereignty, territorial integrity, security and development.”

1️⃣US Chemical Weapons and Biological Military Activities
China and Russia have insisted that the United States should step up the process of eliminating its chemical weapon stockpiles, pointing out that the US is the only signatory of the Chemical Weapons Convention who has not yet done so.
Moscow and Beijing have also voiced their “serious concern” about the “military biological activities” the US carries out both at the American soil and beyond its borders.
Stating that these activities “pose a serious threat to the security of other states and entire regions,” Russia and China demanded that the US should “provide clarifications on this matter” and refrain from conducting activities that contradict the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention.
2️⃣US Designs for Global Defense Missile System
Russia and China said that they are concerned by the United States’ attempts to establish a global missile defense system and to deploy elements of said system in various corners of the world, coupled with Washington’s “build-up of potential in precise non-nuclear weapons for conducting a disarming strike and other strategic capabilities.”
They also expressed concerns about the United States’ “aspiration to deploy ground-based missiles, intermediate-range and shorter-range missiles in the Asia-Pacific and European regions and transfer them to their allies."
3️⃣AUKUS & Nuclear Submarines
Moscow and Beijing voiced their concerns about the plans of the US, the UK and Australia – members of the trilateral military pact AUKUS – to build nuclear submarines.
“The parties strongly urge the members of this partnership to strictly fulfill their obligations to non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and their means of delivery, to maintain regional peace, stability and development in the region," the Sino-Russian joint statement said.
4️⃣No Nuclear War
In their statement, Russia and China firmly insisted that nuclear war must be allowed to occur and that there would be no winners in such conflict.
"Underlining the importance of the joint statement by the leaders of the five nuclear-weapon states on the prevention of nuclear war and the prevention of an arms race, the sides reiterate that a nuclear war cannot be won and must never be unleashed," they declared.
Moscow and Beijing have reaffirmed their obligations under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, which they described as the “cornerstone of the international mechanisms for nuclear disarmament and the international regime for the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons.”
They also pledged to continue coordinating efforts to “preserve and strengthen” said treaty “in the interests of maintaining international peace and security."
5️⃣African Union’s Accession to G20, WTO Reform
Both Russia and China stated they support the accession of the African Union to the G20.
Moscow and Beijing stressed that they are “determined to strengthen coordination within the G20 and other multilateral mechanisms” in order to “improve global economic governance in a fair and rational manner so that it better reflects the structure of the world economy, which includes increasing representation and giving greater voice to emerging market economies and developing countries.”

They also expressed intent to ramp up cooperation on “issues of supporting a multilateral trading system based on WTO rules and combating trade protectionism, which manifests itself, among other things, in the establishment of illegitimate unilateral restrictions on trade,” and to “strengthen dialogue on the WTO agenda, including its reform in order to increase the role of the WTO in the global economic governance."
6️⃣Fukushima Radioactive Water
Russia and China expressed their concern regarding Tokyo’s plans to dump into the ocean the contaminated water that accumulated at the Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant after the nuclear disaster at the facility back in 2011.
Both parties insisted that Japan should “show transparency in contacts with adjoining countries, other interested states, international agencies, and, among other things, hold comprehensive consultations on this issue."

❗️🇷🇺🇺🇦 Highlights of Russian Military Operation in Ukraine on March 21

▪️The AFU attempted to attack the territory of the Novozybkov oil pumping station in the Bryansk region with a drone.

The object was shot down before it reached its target. The power supply to the settlements in the area was temporarily cut off for security reasons.

▪️Another UAV attack was launched against the Klimovo village.

As a result, five residential buildings were damaged, no casualties.

▪️In Crimea, six Ukrainian UAV's attempted to strike the Dzhankoy railway station area.

The air defenses repelled the attack, and several downed drones hit the urban area, damaging residential buildings and a technical college building.

▪️In the northern districts of Bakhmut, the Wagner PMC units continue to storm the industrial area.

In the past 24 hours, control was established over several shops of the non-ferrous metals plant.

▪️On the southern outskirts, Russian forces knocked the AFU out of several multi-story buildings along Korsunsky Street.

In Sobachevka and Budyonovka districts, Russian units are advancing towards each other, encircling the enemy.

▪️To the southwest, on the outskirts of Krasne, heavy fighting in the vicinity of the road to Kostyantynivka continues.

Despite heavy losses, the AFU continue to hold the road, which is vital to the Bakhmut garrison.

▪️Russian forces launched a missile strike on the Odesa International Airport.

The facility is used by the AFU as a drone base for attacks on the Crimean peninsula.

⚡️ Foreign Ministry statement on London’s intention to supply depleted uranium ammunition to Ukraine

💬 We regard the statement made by British Minister of State for Defence Annabel Goldie about the UK government’s plans to send armour-piercing depleted uranium rounds for the Challenger 2 main battle tanks to Ukraine as yet another proof of London’s intention to take the lead in the anti-Russia campaign.

By doing this, the Anglo-Saxons have disclosed their wish to aggravate the confrontation in Ukraine and have disavowed their authorities’ claims about their commitment to the post-conflict rebuilding of that country.

London has apparently forgotten about the well-known serious consequences of the use of toxic and radioactive munitions by the West during the conflicts in Yugoslavia and Iraq. A desire to increase the suffering of civilians and to do irreparable environmental damage shows that the British have no regard whatsoever for the Ukrainian people.

This openly cynical British policy has once again shown who the real aggressor and war monger in Ukraine is. London must know that it will bear full responsibility for violating the fundamental norms of international law.

❗️ London’s decision will have serious consequences for relations between Russia and Britain and will also cause repercussions on the international stage, where the initial reaction by multilateral organisations has indicated their complete rejection of London’s plans. We will respond to such actions accordingly.

#Opinion by Russian MFA Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova

💬 Against the macabre backdrop of all these Western intrigues related to the International Criminal Court and the false accusations, in particular against Russia’s Commissioner for Children’s Rights, Maria Lvova-Belova, I wanted to dig into how Washington manipulated children.

In 1975, during the aggression launched by the US against Vietnam, and with the People’s Army of Vietnam and the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam about to liberate Saigon, Washington made an unprecedented move as part of Operation Frequent Wind. Speaking at noon on April 3, 1975, at a Conference Centre in San Diego, President Gerald Ford said that he ordered Operation Babylift to be carried out under the command of Major General Edward J. Nash.

This kick-started a large-scale effort by the Americans to take children out of Vietnam, including newborn babies. They were airlifted from the country. There is archival footage showing President Ford in person fussing over children who were kidnapped from Vietnam, just like a murderous dictator hungry for some positive media coverage.

This criminal decision by Washington qualifies as a crime under Article II of the 1951 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide. At the time, the Americans wanted to completely wipe out the cultural identity of these infants by putting them up for adoption by families in the United States and its allied countries.

Just watch these images: this is how the US military kidnapped children from Vietnam.

The terrible thing here is not just that Washington did this in 1975, de facto depriving thousands of children of their homeland and culture, and erasing their national, ethnic and social identity, but also how this so-called evacuation was carried out.

Operation Babylift was notorious for its poor management. This is an established fact. Unfortunately, there were even casualties. On April 4, 1975, Lockheed C-5A Galaxy, a US Air Force transport aircraft, crashed over Vietnam due to criminal negligence by the US military, killing 78 babies.

Nevertheless, the Americans awarded the crew and kept the operation going, smuggling 3,000 more babies out of Vietnam.

It has been impossible to establish the exact statistics so far. Now that these babies have grown up, many of them are out there trying to find their real parents.

I cannot wait to see the International Criminal Court issue an arrest warrant for senior officials of the United States, the Pentagon and all these would-be humanitarian foundations who were involved in this operation.

Let me remind you what Sergey Lavrov said about the war itself: “I will not even mention the bloody war in Vietnam that lasted for many years. The US got into this war after staging the Gulf of Tonkin incident. <…> The Americans ignored UN General Assembly resolutions condemning these and other aggressive steps by the United States, turning a blind eye to them.” (October 4, 2022).

Now, let’s compare the horrors of Vietnam, which were quite real, with the care and attention children evacuated from the combat zone receive.

Statement of the Russian Mission to the UN in Geneva:

☢️ The UK's plans to supply Kiev with ammunition containing a nuclear component confirm London's intent to follow down the anti-Russian path of the "collective West" in order to inflict a strategic defeat on our country.

💥 By provoking the Kiev regime to use ammunition with a nuclear component, London is pushing the current Ukrainian authorities to further prolong and escalate the conflict with Russia, regardless of the suffering and casualties among the civilian population. This leaves Kiev with no chance for a political and diplomatic settlement of the Ukrainian crisis.

🇬🇧 The use of depleted uranium ammunition is typical for British combat operations. This is confirmed not only by their widespread use during the past military campaigns with UK participation, but also by London's negative stance on the resolution "Effects of the use of weapons and ammunition containing depleted uranium", adopted by the UN GA since 2007.

🐦 @russembkenya: It is normal for Western governments to stick their noses into internal affairs of other countries, give estimates and shameless advices.
Moreover, lGBTQ+ issues are personal for them.
They even groundlessly think that they are the ones to determine which country is democracy. https://t.co/dSYjAfk2M5
