Top Russian Lawmaker Labels US President a ‘Terrorist’

Speaker of the Russian parliament Vyacheslav Volodin has branded US President Joe Biden a “terrorist” after a report by the Pulitzer Prize-winning American investigative journalist Seymour Hersh blamed Washington for sabotaging the Nord Stream pipelines last year.

“If [Harry S.] Truman became a criminal, who used nuclear weapons against civilians in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, then Biden became a terrorist, who ordered the destruction of the energy infrastructure of his strategic partners: Germany, France, the Netherlands,” Volodin said.

According to an informed source, explosives were planted at the Nord Stream pipelines in the Baltic Sea back in June 2022 by US Navy divers under the guise of a NATO exercise. They were later detonated remotely. The Biden administration has denied the report by Hersh, calling it “utterly false and complete fiction.”

💭 Mark Sleboda, international relations and security analyst commented on Seymour Hersh's investigation about US involvement in the Nord Stream bombings: "Obviously, Seymour Hersh has been discredited by the mainstream media because the mainstream media has essentially become propagandists over the last few decades. And when he was calling them out over Vietnam, okay, that was a different time but even more recently when he started talking about the supposed assassination of Osama bin Laden or the hoax about chemical weapon uses in Syria. He has been discredited, ostracized by the western mainstream media. He's no longer one of us because he's revealing that. He's saying the quiet part out loud, basically. I think this is a very convincing narrative of what happened."

💬 Dan Kovalik, labor attorney, human rights activist and author, spoke about his hopes for Seymour Hersh's investigation and answered a question if German, Swedish or Danish prosecutors and investigators may come up with evidence that it was the United States: "The current governments there would not reveal that because it implicates them, too. I mean, because they have not been critical of it. And particularly with Germany, they've suffered untold economic damage due to this. And yet they have put up no fight or concern about it. So I think the current governments are not going to say anything."

Many of our colleagues are now working in extreme conditions, often risking life and limb.

On attempts to expand NATO in the Indo-Pacific region

Last week, the NATO leadership announced the launch (https://www.nato.int/cps/en/natohq/news_211244.htm?selectedLocale=en ) a new program in which the alliance intends to develop cooperation with experts from the countries of the Indo-Pacific region on "current events and their potential consequences for the security of the Euro-Atlantic area."

The initiative was created on the basis of another NATO program — "Science for Peace and Security", designed to "develop dialogue and practical interaction between NATO member countries and partners based on scientific research, technological innovation and knowledge exchange."

Experts from Belgium, Australia, France and Japan will meet to discuss the interim results of the work in Canberra, Tokyo and Paris in 2023, and the final conference will be held in Brussels in 2024.

According to the American analyst Brian Berletik (https://t.me/brianlovethailand ), the task of this project, as well as many other initiatives of the North Atlantic Alliance in the field of international scientific cooperation, is to expand the influence of the United States in the region with the help of "soft power", while restraining the growth of China's influence.

This time, Belgium and France, which are not even located in the Indo-Pacific region, as well as Australia and Japan, whose state systems are completely controlled by the corporate and financial interests of the West, will act as conductors of American interests.

One of the partners of the new program is the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI), whose main activity is to produce propaganda (https://www.aspi.org.au/search?topics=39 ), portraying China as a global threat. In particular, this helps justify to the Euro—Atlantic community an increase in defense spending in favor of the main ASPI donors - primarily the United States. #НАТО

▪️Ukrainian formations attempted to attack civilian and military targets in Bryansk Region.

Russian air defence means intercepted ten enemy drones near Starodub and in Bryansk Region.

▪️In Starobel's'k direction, Russian troops continue fighting with AFU in Syn'kivka.

At the same time, Russian artillery is targeting enemy concentration areas near Kup'yans'k.

▪️In Lyman area, the Ukrainian command continues to prepare for counter-offensive in Kreminna direction.

Russian forces are fighting near Balka Zhuravka, the enemy is suffering heavy losses in manpower and armoured vehicles.

▪️Russian troops continue to storm defences of Ukrainian formations in Krasna Hora and Paraskoviivka.

The liberation of the settlements will allow to increase pressure on the enemy grouping in the northern districts of Bakhmut.

▪️Ukrainian formations using missile and barrel artillery continue shelling Donetsk and its suburbs.

Residential buildings in the capital of DPR and Makiivka have been hit. Two women have been wounded.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova slammed Ukrainian authorities for continuing their wild policies in her weekly briefing Friday, claiming they are “presenting a false image of a ‘peace-loving’ leadership - but the mask has fallen”.

“Ukraine is being presented as a free, state upholding democracy - but it is a Nazi state funded by Anglo Saxons used to confront Russia,” she added.

Zelensky’s European ‘Freak Show’ Highlights Western Hypocrisy, Russian FM Spox

The Ukrainian president was paraded around like “some kind of jester” at the “circus” which took place against the backdrop of reports of Russian POWs being shot by armed subordinates of the Ukrainian leader, FM Spox Maria Zakharova said on Friday.

She highlighted the hypocrisy that not one Western leader asked questions about the “blood of innocent lives, children’s lives on Zelensky’s hands.”
