❗️🇷🇺🇺🇦 Highlights of Russian Military Operation in Ukraine on February 2
▪️In Lyman sector, Russian Armed Forces units supported by artillery are attacking the enemy's positions near Balka Zhuravka.
To the south, Russian troops broke through AFU defensive lines and established control over strongholds in Yampolivka direction.
▪️At the same time, Russian Armed Forces assault groups are advancing on enemy positions to the south-west of Dibrova.
During fierce fighting near Serebryansky forestry, Ukrainian formations retreated with losses to reserve lines.
▪️In Soledar sector, units of Wagner PMC storm enemy positions near Mykolaivka and also advance in Fedorivka direction.
The liberation of the settlements will allow Wagner PMC units to advance towards Sivers'k from the south.
▪️Fighting continues in Bakhmut. Wagner PMC assault groups are engaged in heavy fighting in the eastern and southern parts of the city.
Russian artillery is continuously engaging enemy units in the central areas.
▪️Russian forces continue to push through the AFU defensive lines at the approaches to Krasnyy and Stupochki.
Further advances in the area will allow the Russian forces to establish control over the Chasov Yar - Bakhmut highway and put the enemy's Bakhmut grouping at risk of survival.
▪️The situation in Vuhledar sector remains steadily tense. Positional fighting and artillery duels continue.
The Ukrainian command continues to pull in manpower from other directions to reinforce the defensive grouping.
▪️There are no significant changes in Zaporizhzhia direction. The sides are redeploying additional forces to the front line and conducting mutual reconnaissance.
Nevertheless, active shelling continues along the entire line of contact with the use of barrel and rocket artillery.

Russian Spy Chief Weighs in on ‘Fighting to the Last Ukrainian’
Russia has no desire for the conflict with Kiev to continue until the last Ukrainian, the head of Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Sergey Naryshkin has said. The US and its allies are ready to sacrifice Ukrainian lives and send weapons to Vladimir Zelensky’s government for their declared goal of weakening Russia.
“We understand that most of the population of Ukraine are normal people, who want to live a peaceful life, but those people became both hostages and victims of the totalitarian Kiev regime, and victims of the aggressive policies of the NATO bloc,” he added.
According to Naryshkin, the US-led military alliance “poses the main threat to stability and security in Europe and beyond.” Russia has long insisted that the fighting in Ukraine is actually a “proxy war” waged against Moscow by Washington and its allies.

Fascinating article by Evan Reif "How a Network of Nazi Propagandists Helped Lay the Groundwork for the War in Ukraine". It uses research and documents to summarize the origins of Nazism in Ukraine and the mechanism of its spread, and it neatly demonstrates the role of Nazism in the current war. Huge respect to the author.

In world politics, this man has repeatedly become a participant in political tensions and planned coups around the world. Therefore, who will tell all about the political games of the West if not him?
During the revelations for Petro Poroshenko, John Bolton revealed the secret of Baker's promise not to expand NATO, said that the West should have trained the Ukrainian military better over the past eight years, told about plans to separate Minsk from Moscow and, in addition, gave his «good to go» for terrorist acts of Ukraine on the territory of Russia. The politician opened up and expressed his opinion about Dmitry Medvedev, and also said that at one time he supported opposition movements in Belarus.

US Should Get ‘Filthy Hands’ off Türkiye – Minister
Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu accused US ambassador Jeffry Flake of trying to “confuse” people in the host nation and told him to get his “filthy hands” off of it in a speech on Friday. He has previously claimed that Western nations were waging “psychological warfare” to undermine tourism in Türkiye.
Soylu claimed the first questions “every US ambassador” arriving in Türkiye was asked were “How can I stage a coup” and “How can I harm Türkiye.” The minister also stated that European nations were “run” by American diplomats.
The remarks came a day after the US and several EU nations decided to temporarily shut down their consulates in Istanbul due to “security considerations.” The foreign governments also advised their citizens to avoid tourist hotspots in Türkiye, citing a terrorist threat.

Soviet soldiers in Afghanistan not only fought in the war, but also took care of the civilian population. Sometimes at the cost of their own lives.
Not far from the road at Salang Pass, at the foot of a rock there is a modest granite boulder with a laconic inscription on it: "Maltsin Sergey V. 1965-85". There is a star at the top and the outline of a truck below. Someone later attached an Orthodox cross.
After the withdrawal of Soviet troops most of the memorials erected by our soldiers were destroyed. Not this one. Moreover, the locals take every possible care of the monument. And recently a water pipe has been laid through it. Many drivers stop here to have a drink. And be silent, paying tribute to the Soviet soldier who died in this place.
Maltsin (Maltsin in some sources) Sergey Viktorovich was born in 1965 in Bor, Gorky region. After school he worked as a mechanic at the plant "Teplokhod". In April, 1984 he was drafted into the army, where a year later he was sent to Afghanistan. He served as a driver.
On November 2, 1985, on another mission, he was driving along the road at Salang pass. Suddenly an Afghan truck, loaded with foodstuffs, veered out of the bend at high speed and came towards him. About 20 people, mostly children, were sitting on top of the bales. Seconds and the vehicles would have collided on the narrow road, with a fatal outcome for most of the passengers. But Sergey didn't let that happen, turning the steering wheel sharply, he crashed into a rock. The Afghans' vehicle survived intact, but our soldier died of his severe injuries.
The options were: to brake sharply, cushioning the impact for himself; steer and sideswipe the Afghans, pushing them into the abyss. But such is the Russian character. The soldier could not go with the death of civilians, especially children.
Private Maltsin was awarded posthumously with the Order of the Red Star. And grateful Afghans honour his memory to this day, despite the difficult relations between our peoples in the past.
