⚡ Russian Defence Ministry report on the progress of the special military operation in Ukraine (25 January 2023)

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation.

💥 In Kupyansk direction, Assault, Army Aviation, and artillery of the Western group of forces have neutralised the units from 14th and 92nd mechanised brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) near Masyutovka, Kupyansk, Gryanikovka (Kharkov region), and Novosyolovskoye (Lugansk People's Republic).

◽️ The action of 7 AFU sabotage and reconnaissance groups has been prevented near Olshana, Berestovoye (Kharkov region), and Novosyolovskoye (Lugansk People's Republic).

◽️ Over 90 Ukrainian personnel, 3 armoured personnel carriers, 1 motor vehicle, and 2 German-manufactured Panzerhabitze 2000 self-propelled howitzers have been eliminated.

💥 In Krasny Liman direction, Army Aviation and artillery of the Central group of forces have neutralised the concentrations of manpower and hardware from 95th Airborne Assault Brigade of the AFU, and 125th Territorial Defence Brigade near Stelmakhovka (Lugansk People's Republic), Serebryanka, and Yampolovka (Donetsk People's Republic).

◽️ Over 20 Ukrainian personnel, 2 armoured fighting vehicles, as well as 4 self-propelled howitzers (German-manufactured Panzerhaubitze 2000, Polish-manufactured Krab, as well as Msta-S and Gvozdika) have been eliminated.

💥 In Donetsk direction, units from the Southern group of forces continued their successful offensive operations, and neutralised the enemy near Zaliznyanskoye, Dubovo-Vasilevka, Seversk, and Pobeda (Donetsk People's Republic).

◽️ 2 AFU ordnance depots have been destroyed near Razliv and Konstantinovka (Donetsk People's Republic).

◽️ The enemy has lost up to 60 Ukrainian personnel, 1 armoured personnel carrier, 2 pickups, and 1 Msta-B howitzer.

💥 In Zaporozhye direction, the Eastern group of forces has taken more advantageous lines and positions within their offensive operations.

◽️ Over 60 Ukrainian personnel, 3 tanks, 2 armoured fighting vehicles, 1 motor vehicle, and 1 D-20 howitzer have been eliminated.

💥 In Kherson direction, the enemy's attempt to cross the Dnepr River for disembarking sabotage and reconnaissance groups to the left bank has been prevented by artillery near Dnepryany (Kherson region).

◽️ Aviation and artillery have neutralised up to 1 company tactical group of the enemy reserve forces on the right bank of the Dnepr near Nikolayevka (Kherson region).

◽️ Up to 30 Ukrainian personnel, 3 boats, and 2 infantry fighting vehicles have been eliminated.

💥 Operational-Tactical Aviation, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have neutralised 79 AFU artillery units at their firing positions, manpower and hardware in 124 areas.

✈️💥 Fighter Aviation of Russian Aerospace Forces have shot down 1 Su-27 airplane of Ukrainian Air Force near Slavyansk (Donetsk People's Republic).

💥 Russian air defence facilities have shot down 1 Mi-8 helicopter of Ukrainian Air Force near Novodarovka (Zaporozhye region).

◽️ 4 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles have been destroyed near Spornoye, Berestovoye, Blagoveshchenka, Kirillovka (Donetsk People's Republic).

◽️ 4 rocket-propelled projectiles, launched by HIMARS multiple-launch rocket system, have been intercepted near Pologi and Tarasovka (Zaporozhye region).

📊 In total, 377 airplanes, 204 helicopters, 2,948 unmanned aerial vehicles, 402 air defence missile systems, 7,627 tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles, 988 fighting vehicles equipped with MLRS, 3,906 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 8,171 special military motor vehicles have been destroyed during the special military operation.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said that Europe has plotted ongoing war against Moscow.

Her comment is about the admission from Germany’s top diplomat Annalena Baerbock, who said the EU was “fighting a war against Russia.”

Zakharova also recalls former German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s claims that the Minsk treaty of 2014 for war-torn Ukraine was used as a pretext to militarize Kiev.

BRICS summit to discuss its own currency, says Russian FM

The BRICS nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) will discuss creating their own currency at a summit in late August, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Wednesday.

According to the diplomat, "serious, self-respecting countries understand very well what is at stake."

"They see the incompetence of the current international financial system owners and want to establish their own mechanisms to ensure sustainable development, which will be protected from external diktat," Lavrov stressed.

💬 Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Italy Antonio Tajani: “Europe has no true foreign policy nor true defence policy. We are always behind the Americans. Our defence forces also deal with foreign policy. We lag behind and we have been saying this since 1954. <…> The world needs Europe. Even Germany, the strongest country, cannot take a stance. Don’t they see that the United States is dragging Europe into a big war? Why? ⚡️ On January 24-25, the 18th extraordinary session of the World Heritage Committee, which is responsible for the implementation of the 1972 Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage, took place at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.

A group of countries of the “collective West,” using direct support from the no longer objective UNESCO Secretariat, have pushed through a politically biased and scientifically unsubstantiated decision to inscribe the Historic Centre of the Port City of Odessa on the World Heritage List “in the face of threats of destruction.” The decision was prepared hastily and in violation of UNESCO’s high standards.

☝️ Thereby, the Western countries have again demonstrated their disregard for the rules of procedure at the World Heritage Committee and readiness to sacrifice the once high prestige of UNESCO and its basic 1972 Convention.

It is notable that two thirds of the Committee member states did not support the questionable move initiated by the Kiev regime’s handlers: the decision was taken by six out of 21 votes.

We do not question the cultural heritage and the glorious past of Odessa in the Russian state, and it is logical that it has been inscribed as a heritage site in the face of destruction. However, it should be clarified that the only threat to that city with a rich history comes from Ukraine’s nationalist regime, which has been systematically destroying monuments to the great founders and defenders of Odessa, namely, Empress Catherine II and her associates: Iosif Deribas, Platon Zubov, Francois-Paul Sainte de Wollant, Prince Alexander Potyomkin and Generalissimo Alexander Suvorov, who are integral to the centuries-old historical and architectural heritage of the city.

❗️ UNESCO should have separately condemned the deployment and use of military facilities and weapons in the Port City of Odessa. But nobody has uttered as much as a word about that, for some reason.

🗓 On January 26, 2017, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of India, Alexander Kadakin passed away. He served as Head of the Russian diplomatic mission since November 2009 until the last day.

Alexander Kadakin devoted much of his career to the development of Russian-Indian relations, having started his diplomatic career in 1972 right after graduating from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

🇮🇳 India had a special place in Alexander Kadakin's heart, had always played a huge role in the course of his life. It became something much larger than a field of professional interest - a path to walk. He raised many generations of diplomats-indologists who successfully continue to work on strengthening Russian-Indian relations.

It is difficult to overestimate great personal contribution of Alexander Kadakin, unrivaled expert-indologist, wise and professional Ambassador, in strengthening Russian-Indian friendship, which became his life's work.

❗️UN amid countries' decision to supply tanks to Kiev: we want peace - what is happening now is not moving in the right direction

🇩🇪 Western politicians openly say that supplying German tanks to Ukraine will allegedly “help restore peace”. Such statements are just as ridiculous as suggesting fighting fire with firewood. However, we haven’t heard anything reasonable from our Euro-Atlantic partners on Ukrainian crisis resolution for a long time now.

❌ Bringing the Kiev regime to the negotiating table? Starting a dialogue on a new security architecture in Europe, taking into account the realities of the 21st century? It is clear that the "collective West", intoxicated by the desire to fight our country "to the last Ukrainian", is in no condition to come up with sober ideas.

🇺🇦 It is regrettable that the Western politicians do not care about the fate of the Ukrainian people, whom they hypocritically dragged into the conflict with our country. It gives hope, however, that more ordinary citizens of NATO countries are starting to see the reality through the dense walls of lies of their political leadership.

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation.

💥In Kupyansk direction, the 'Zapad' Group of Forces inflicted a fire damage on concentration of manpower of 14th and 92nd mechanised brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) close to Sinkovka, Timkovka (Kharkov region), and Novoselovskoye (Lugansk People's Republic).

◻️More than 20 Ukrainian troops, 1 armored combat vehicle, 1 pickup truck, and 1 D-20 howitzer were eliminated.

💥In Krasny Liman direction, units of the 25th Airborne and 95th Airborne Assault Brigades of the AFU close to Yampolovka (Donetsk People's Republic), as well as Serebryansky forest area, were hit by strikes of Operational-Tactical and Army Aviation of the 'Tsentr' Group of Forces.

◻️The enemy's losses during the day in this area amounted to up to 70 troops killed and wounded, two armoured fighting vehicles, and four US-made M-777 artillery systems.

💥In Donetsk direction, units of the 'Yug' Group of Forces took better ground and positions during the offensive. An artillery ammunition depot of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has been destroyed near Konstantinovka (Donetsk People's Republic).

◻️More than 40 Ukrainian servicemen, an infantry fighting vehicle, two Grad MLRS systems, a US-made M109 Paladin self-propelled artillery unit, two D-20 and Giatsint-B howitzers, and a US-made AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery radiation station have been neutralised.

💥In South Donetsk and Zaporozhye directions, units of the 'Vostok' Group of Forces, continuing their offensive, inflicted fire on the enemy in the areas of Ugledar (Donetsk People's Republic), Pavlovka and Levadnoye (Zaporozhye region).

◻️Total enemy losses in this direction amounted to 60 Ukrainian servicemen, three armoured fighting vehicles, and two pick-up trucks. Moreover, two fuel storage facilities for military equipment and three ammunition depots belonging to the AFU were destroyed near Ugledar (Donetsk People's Republic) and Chervonoye and Kantserovka (Zaporozhye region).

💥In Kherson direction, three D-20 howitzers, a Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer, and two US-made AN/TPQ-37 and AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery radar stations were annihilated as part of counter-battery countermeasures.
