🇷🇺🇨🇳📞 On January 9, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke over the phone with Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China Qin Gang.

The Russian Minister congratulated his Chinese colleague on his recent appointment and wished him success in this responsible position.

The two officials discussed topical matters on the bilateral, global and regional agendas. They rejected the policy of the United States and its satellites to establish a hegemony in global affairs, which prompts the West to provoke confrontation with Russia and China, interfere in their domestic affairs, and attempts to constrain the development of the two countries through sanctions and other illegitimate methods.

The ministers went on to state that Moscow and Beijing were united in their approaches to fundamental matters on the global development agenda. They gave a positive assessment of the constructive dialogue and high level of bilateral coordination in the United Nations, BRICS, the SCO, within the Group of Twenty, as well as at ASEAN cooperation platforms and other formats, with all these efforts fully in line with the trust-based partnership between the two countries.

Sergey Lavrov invited Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China Qin Gang to visit Russia at a convenient time.

💥 In Kupyansk direction, Russian forces have launched artillery strikes at the concentration areas of the manpower from 14th Mechanised Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) near Timkovka and Ivanovka (Kharkov region).

◽️ Up to 20 Ukrainian personnel, 1 armoured fighting vehicle, and 4 motor vehicles have been eliminated.

💥 In Krasny Liman direction, artillery units have neutralised the units from 95th Airborne Assault Brigade of the AFU and 103rd Territorial Defence Brigade near Serebryanka (Donetsk People's Republic), and Stelmakhovka (Lugansk People's Republic).

US ‘Threatening’ Africa Over Ties With Russia — Defense Minister

Relations between Washington and Pretoria have become strained after a Russian cargo ship visited South Africa’s largest naval base last month, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday. The country’s defense minister said the US had been pressuring African nations over any links with Moscow, according to the outlet.

Washington is “concerned by the support the South African Armed Forces provided to the ‘Lady R’,” a senior US official told the WSJ, referring to a Russian vessel that was sanctioned in May over its alleged involvement in arms shipments for Moscow.

In early December, the ship was allowed to enter Simon’s Town navy base with its transponders turned off and freely move cargo there, the report claimed. “There is no publicly available information on the source of the containers that were loaded onto the ‘Lady R’,” the official said.

❌ Весь «коллективный Запад» в унисон выступил с осуждением жестоких уличных протестов в Бразилии. Ведь цель зачинщиков беспорядков была понятна – госпереворот и насильственное свержение законно избранного президента. Разумеется, Россия также осудила эти противоправные действия.

💬 Глава Еврокомиссии Урсула фон дер Ляйен, например, написала в Твиттере, что происходящие в Бразилиа события являются предметом «серьёзной озабоченности для всех нас – защитников демократии».

❓ Хочется спросить: а где же были вы, «защитники демократии», в 2014 г., когда на улицах Киева аналогичным образом осуществлялся кровавый госпереворот? Кто тогда на Западе выступил в поддержку законного президента В.Ф.Януковича, осудив при этом бесчинства местных националистов? Никто. Напротив, европейские лидеры в одночасье отказались от своих обязательств в качестве гарантов Соглашения об урегулировании политического кризиса на Украине от 21 февраля 2014 г. и легимитизировали незаконно пришедших к власти радикалов.

🤷 Как это ни иронично, но с критикой беспорядков в Бразилии выступил и украинский мининдел Д.Кулеба. Оно и понятно – кому, как не представителям нынешнего режима Украины, известно о последствиях кровавых путчей?

❗️ Уроки «Арабской весны» и «Киевского Майдана» со всей очевидностью показали, что жестокие вооруженные протесты, инсценированные извне и приведшие к госпереворотам, не могут принести ничего хорошего. Однако этот неоспоримый факт каждый раз проходит через призму евроатлантических «двойных стандартов». Когда это выгодно Западу, такие действия классифицируются как «мирные протесты и право людей на защиту демократии», когда нет – «противоправные уличные беспорядки».
