Mel is one of those people who doesn’t need to say much to be heard. She’s not too loud, not too flashy as everything is just steady, sharp, and grounded with her around. She is a field medic with a soft spot for people that she swears she’s not getting attached to. She hates unnecessary violence but she’s not naïve as she is well aware of what this world is, so she has learnt how to survive. Mel keeps most of her emotions close, but never really good at completely hiding it. As a medic, she has a power of empathy that is above the other Salt Lake Crew members as she carries a quiet kind of guilt wherever she wanders through the seasons, one that creeps in during the still moments. The fear, the doubt, the weird flickers of hope are all tangled up inside her. She's trying to keep it together, to believe there’s something good left to fight for, even when most days feel like survival is the only win. Although she’s not a hero, nor a very good fighter. She’s always going with her best. And in this world, that’s a damn hard thing to be. And I reckon that Daenerys can portray her just as best.

It's fate that puts her there when everything starts falling apart as she is one of the few who doesn't. She is practical, clearheaded, and somehow always knows what needs to be done, even when it’s the last thing she wants to do. People look at him not mainly because she demands it, it's because she shows up. Over and over, no matter how heavy the cost can be. She is always hopeful, she always believes in something bigger. Maybe it’s her survival instinct, maybe it’s just a hope for justice, or maybe it could be another thing? We can never know. She just cares too much. About the world, maybe. Or about her team, maybe. Or is she just naïve? That’s what keeps her up at night. The weight of her choices, the people she's lost, and the fear that one day, even doing the right thing won’t be enough. Her personality can be very complicated for the audiences. Yet, I do believe that Emerys can deliver it greatly.

Dina is the kind of girl who makes the end of the world feel a little less heavy. She is everyone's favourite. She’s got that easy laugh, the one that sneaks up on you when you don’t even think you could laugh anymore. Although she seems very carefree, she is just like other people who have to go through personal issues. She’s just a professional at carrying the hard stuff without letting it crush her spirit. She would joke when things get tense, cracks sarcastic lines like bullets hitting an armour right at its center. And she’s deeply loyal because when she loves someone, she’s all in. She will be the first to defend, the first to stay up all night with them after something goes wrong, but she would not say much, she will just be there. Almost everybody in Jackson loves Dina. She knows how to shoot, how to run, how to fight. But what makes her stand out is her heart. She sees people and she doesn’t let the apocalypse strip that away as she is very determined to hold on to the parts of herself that still feel human. She’s been through it. Lost people, made tough calls, watched the world harden around her. And yeah, sometimes it makes her retreat, sometimes she shuts down. But she always finds her way back. She fights for connection in a world that tells her not to bother. All in all, Dina is a very complex character Suter can exactly portray in and out.

Owen is sharp out in his field, he always keeps it cool under pressure and is optimistic. The kind of guy who always believes that the world could still be something beautiful. He’d talk about the ocean like it was sacred, or point out how the sky looks after it rains. He is not hardened like the others even after the years of being in the military. He’s trained, experienced, and knows how to handle himself in a fight very well. Even so, violence never really sits right with his principles. Deep down, Owen has a kind of heart which is full of sympathy and empathy. And it weighs on him in a way he doesn’t always talk about. Yet, he’s the guy who often asks, “why are we doing this?”, when everyone else is just following orders. He is sometimes too logical for the broken world. But he is too loyal to leave his friends behind for the sake of being a little full of sense. Sometimes, though, he also wants to at least be understood. But still, he will try to get back stronger each time. And when he looks at what’s left of the world, you can tell he’s still holding onto that need to find something better. He’s not trying to be a hero because he is human enough to ever be one. Owen has a thousand emotions that should be seen by the audiences, and I do think Mave will suit the role well.

The audiences always believe that Abby is such a solid, focused, and unapologetically intense person. There is always this kind of strong leadership aura that she has that could make people straighten up out of respect. There is a weight to her presence that is almost like she’s been through hell and has learnt how to carry it, barely successful. She might be strong, great posture, decent muscle mass, unexceptional strength, you name it. But deep down there, there is an emotional armour around her that was built from loss, guilt, and the unrelenting need to do something, to finish something . She mostly doesn’t have time for fluff or half-measures because for her, life is too short to not do it on purpose. But under all that fighter's demeanour, there’s someone that's still grieving. Someone who hasn’t stopped trying to make sense of the past, even while she claws her way through the present. But no, Abby doesn’t want to be a hero. She always thought that she only wanted peace, but peace was never the only thing right? She’s made choices, the hard ones. The ones that keep her up at night and haunt her because of what she's done. She owns them, even when they cost her everything. Abby is just another symbol of what real survival looks like when she's got something left to prove and everything left to lose. Her role is complicated, but Neoma will definitely be really good at trying to put the character into life.

Maria Miller runs Jackson as if she’s holding it in her own two hands. She’s smart, practical, and organized as hell. Her sense of responsibility and way of thinking is one of the things that makes Jackson function well. Though, she’s not only a behind the scenes figure, the woman always shows up when it counts, at the gates, in council meetings, breaking up tension between folks before it turns to violence. People respect her because she’s proven she can make hard decisions and she is mainly fair, she doesn’t even play favorites. Nevertheless, her lack of empathy due to focusing on what's best for the town has left her morals a little ambiguous. She can come off as distant or even cold, despite her being all lovey-dovey with Tommy Miller. Sometimes she gets too determined on keeping the town running that she forgets the people in it. She’ll make a call without asking, pull someone from a mission, lock down an area, all in the name of “safety.” Some folks will probably understand her choice as she only tries her best for the community and its people, although it doesn’t always go over well. Perhaps, those are fears? Or is it a glimpse of endless hope? But Maria is not always that difficult to understand, when she lets her guard down, we can see how much she actually cares. She’s not unfeeling, she’s just stretched thin. She carries loss like everyone else in that town, but she refuses to let it paralyze her. Instead, she builds. Brick by brick, routine by routine, she fights for a normal that people can actually live in. She holds a crucial role in Jackson Hole, which I think Madeline's sense of justice will bring her to life easily.

A villain or a hero? In that ruined world, does that even matter? In the Washington Liberation Front, Jordan is known for being reliable, all efficient despite having a cold and mysterious demeanor. He is definitely not one who speaks much in the room, but his presence is always there. Always looming, always observing. He follows orders, keeps things moving flawlessly, and he does whatever needs to be done. But behind that? Just like another survivor, he has a history, he carries weight in his stone cold shoulders. He has seen enough, Fireflies, WLF, all those military shits, he knows enough. He can see what happens when they hesitate, when they let their feelings get in the way. He’s learned to shut that part off, or at least pretend to. To him, it’s safer to be the guy people don’t mess with than to be the one questioning everything. Although his screen time is limited, Jordan has a huge impact on the storyline. I think his strength and determination can be brought to life easily by Malakai

He’s a seasoned survivor, he is a very experienced nomad. Tommy is never loud or ruthless, he is calm and calculated, quite fierce at times, quite humourous too, but mostly protective at fault. He is Jackson’s eyes in the distance, his sniping skill is on hawkeye level that threatens the threat before anyone even sees a dust. He doesn't always have to care enough to be that good because he is a natural. He was a hunter, he was a smuggler, he was a soldier, he was everything the world ever offered him to be. Though, his younger years were rough and were a regular in being called trouble, Tommy has now grown into a man that carries a deep sense of duty He is beyond responsible, to the people he loves, to the promises he’s made, to the people of Jackson Hole. He’s extremely loyal and empathetic. As the youngest Miller, he has a moral compass that is slightly over the eldest, although it’s been bent, chipped, and tested over time. But as much as he tries to do things right, he’s not always sure what that means anymore. Sometimes the world goes his way, most of the time it just goes the opposite way. But a Miller is a Miller, determined and hardheaded. And when the community needs someone that is as strong and as selfless to stand between them and the worst the world has to offer. Alessandro would fit into the character perfectly as I am sure he won't find any difficulty to understand the personality. Just lock in, he'll keep you safe.

His main calmness is what makes people put their trust and hope in him. It is the kind of calm that settles a room before a risky procedure, or the one that reminds someone they’re not alone in their fear. Jerry Anderson speaks with clarity and not ego, with care and not control. He has a good sense of duty, though it's never at the cost of compassion. Sometimes his life choices and decisions come from the heart as much as the mind. But as a part of a community, he tends to put his own empathy aside for the sake of whatever holds the future of the Fireflies. He’s stitched up more than his share of wounds, physical and otherwise. But he believes that the cure isn’t just about science, it is about intention about doing the hard thing for the right reason. Or about saving lives without losing what makes life worth living. He is also a good father, always gentle, always thoughtful, always present. A true inspirational being in a broken era where almost everything shatters. And even in a crumbling world, he is someone people look to. Not only for orders but for reminders, too. That there’s still kindness, that there’s still a purpose, that you can be strong and good.
