Fun underwater shoot from 2010... working with multiple models is a lot of fun and a challenge, but being able to find 3 on the same day who want to create some poses together is even more rare!
Another rare treat -- having two talented visual artist friends as models and collaborating on some mixed-gender figures with them. 2013.
From a shoot this past summer...

Still haven't had time to shoot lately. But at least my studio is cleaner than before, so I'm getting closer to having a spot where I can create some VR art and not have a mess in the shot!
From 2007... seems like a lifetime ago
End of an era... I sold my underwater camera housing on eBay...

It's not the end of me shooting underwater, though! I just needed a housing that works with the camera I upgraded to last year, and it won't arrive until probably late May.

I keep having grand plans to shoot more regularly in the studio, but other things just keep getting in the way

Photo: from Tennessee last year
Never let a little rain ruin a photo shoot!

My summer travel includes Burning Flipside; Knoxville; Marbella, Spain; and Burning Man. If you know anyone I should collab with during those trips, tell them to reach out!
Oh! And my new underwater housing has arrived, so I'm ready to plan an underwater shoot or two in between trips this summer, assuming I find local models to work with
Are you still an artist if you can't get past your own insecurities, busy calendar, and general exhaustion from daily life to still create?

It seems like I now rarely pick up a camera unless I'm on vacation... something else just always seems to be in the way.
Back from Burning Flipside. It has some aspects of Burning Man, but missed some critical ones for me. I don’t think I’d go back unless I was part of a camp.

Due to a massively sprained/rolled ankle (which was partially at fault for the ruined burn), I won’t be shooting underwater until July at the earliest. Fortunately, I have plenty of old stuff to share, like this beach shoot from 2013 or so
From a shoot many years ago in an abandoned mental hospital… the same one my parents met in (as staff, not patients)
Preparing for Burning Man...
A park in California... IIRC, the location was used to film several Star Trek episodes, due to the almost alien-looking jagged diagonal rocks
Never got around to any new underwater work this summer. Maybe after Burning Man?
I sorted through 7,800 photos from Burning Man, delivered over 1,700.

It's up to the people I shoot there whether I share any of the photos from those shoots. I don't sell or exhibit them, but I'm happy to share a few here occasionally. I'm already nostalgic for the playa and planning for next year!

Speaking of my normal artwork, after years of unpublished trial and error, I've finally gotten my 3D/VR workflow optimized, so I'm starting a studio series this fall/winter exploring this new technology! When I post those, you'll have to see them using your web browser, ideally with a VR headset for the full effect. I just have to figure out which weekends I'm free to shoot and reach out to some local-ish models.
