Labour’s “Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill” will decimate home education in England with compulsory registration, a raft of onerous new compliance regulations and an expansion of School Attendance Orders.
The Bill was introduced into Parliament on 20th December 2024, just before Christmas, and has its second reading on 8th January 2025.

It is part of a three pronged attack on parental independence. Labour has attack private schools with 20% VAT of private school fees; they are issuing guidance to ‘diversify the curriculum’, and now they are undermining home education with registration and the imposition of difficult-to-achieve compliance regulations that may force children to attend a government school.
