🇮🇱 Israel turning southern Lebanon into Gaza-like ‘yellow line’

Just days after a fragile ceasefire was agreed, the Israeli military announced the creation of a so-called “yellow line” in Lebanon—exactly like the deadly demarcation the IDF uses in Gaza.

What’s it all about?

🔴 This yellow line establishes a de facto military buffer zone stretching north of the border inside southern Lebanon, where Israeli forces can shoot at anyone who dares to approach from the Lebanese side

🔴 Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu dubbed the line “a security strip 10 kilometers deep, which is much stronger and more intense than what we had previously”

🔴 Lebanon and Hezbollah have rejected the creation of the line as an occupation of sovereign territory, which they say violates the very premise of the 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon that has been in effect since April 17

🔴 Israeli military has already attacked what it described as “terrorists,” who were allegedly trying to approach the IDF from the yellow line, which is already referred to as the “continuation of the Gazafication of southern Lebanon”

In Gaza, Israeli troops routinely fire on anyone approaching the yellow line, which has been in place since the October 10 ceasefire came into force between the IDF and Hamas. Israeli attacks have since then killed more than 700 people and wounded around 2,000 in Gaza.
