The Bill was introduced into Parliament on 20th December 2024, just before Christmas, and has its second reading on 8th January 2025.

It is part of a three pronged attack on parental independence. Labour has attack private schools with 20% VAT of private school fees; they are issuing guidance to ‘diversify the curriculum’, and now they are undermining home education with registration and the imposition of difficult-to-achieve compliance regulations that may force children to attend a government school.
