'Carbon Dioxide Fertilization Greening Earth, Study Finds' "From a quarter to half of Earth’s vegetated lands has shown significant greening over the last 35 years largely due to rising levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide, according to a new study published in the journal Nature Climate Change on April 25.

An international team of 32 authors from 24 institutions in eight countries led the effort, which involved using satellite data from NASA’s Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectrometer and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer instruments to help determine the leaf area index, or amount of leaf cover, over the planet’s vegetated regions. The greening represents an increase in leaves on plants and trees equivalent in area to two times the continental United States"

Positive Action: Start your own "Council Watch" YouTube channel

What is this?

Basically it is putting the video highlights from your Councils online meetings together in order to share with those that don’t have the time to sit through these meetings. You can add your own commentary or choose not to.

Why it's a good idea:

• Keeps everyone up to date in your local area, so that any issues can be dealt with sooner rather than later

• It enables people to really see the personalities and viewpoints of the councillors.

• It allows people to see how councils are run and hopefully encourage other people to become counsellors.

• Our current lack of knowledge is what got us into the state we are in; this helps to start to address this issue.

• Our biggest battle isn't what is being done to us it is the collective apathy that's allowing the few to dictate to the masses.

• Councils everywhere are either being amalgamated into bigger institutions or they are going bankrupt which means they are even less interested in working for local people.

• In order to turn this around peacefully we must take action now; we need to get out of this political system and into a people-based system.

• We all need to play our part because, if we don't , every right and freedom will be further eroded.

• This needs to be done in a respectful manner; we cannot assume that everyone within your Council knows the full picture of what is happening. This is part of our collective education.
