While transport and buildings are the major drivers for emissions in cities, the share of individual emissions is significant.
Personal carbon allowance programs have had limited success due to a lack of awareness and fair mechanism for tracking emissions.
Yet there have been major developments in recent years that could help realise "My Carbon" initiatives.
"There have been numerous examples of personal carbon allowance programs in discussions for the last two decades, however they had limited success due to a lack of social acceptance, political resistance, and a lack of awareness and fair mechanism for tracking “My Carbon” emissions.
Advances in emerging technologies like AI, blockchain and digitization can enable tracking personal carbon emissions, raise awareness and also provide individual advisories on lower carbon and ethical choices for consumption of product and services. The World Economic Forum’s Scale 360 initiative demonstrates the use of fourth industrial revolution technologies across the whole life cycle of products and services.

Since we’re talking about the origins and early history of the SARS-2 outbreak, it’s worth having a look at Jonathan Engler’s intriguing analysis of the all-cause mortality data out of northern Italy in the earliest days of the outbreak. He asks why,

“This is planned. Moderna & the US government patented the (technology for the) product years ago. Three days after WHO declared a pandemic, Moderna announced it had a product. You can’t invent a product in three days”.
Check out the comical Bond villain, Schwab & his sidekick Gates. They intend to maintain a high tempo of pandemics & claim to knock them down before they become a problem.
The awkward difficulty comes once it’s appreciated that PANDEMICS CANNOT HAPPEN. Not serious ones, anyway. It’s the high apparent transmission rate of common colds coupled with their generally low morbidity & mortality that means at your worst, you can usually continue to go about your day. But it’s of no geopolitical consequence.
A more lethal illness such as influenza can make you very unwell. Under these circumstances, your withdrawal from normal life for a few days is pretty much involuntary. Too ill to be out & about. Still, allegedly responsible for 8-40K winter deaths annually in UK. Not worth interrupting the lives of almost 8 billion people over.
Consider a much more severe infectious Respiratory illness. This will render your unwell like flu only worse & more quickly. I invite people to think of “airborne Ebola”. Very frightening. But here’s the thing. It makes you very unwell the day you acquire the illness. You withdraw completely & you’ve no choice in the matter. Your ability to infect anyone else is severely limited. The outbreak is self limiting.
I genuinely think global pandemics worth getting concerned about CANNOT HAPPEN. It’s not luck. It’s the way infectious agents & animals like humans have co-evolved. Had this not been so, we’d have been wiped out on any of several occasions in the past.
As for the concept that “increases in human travel is what produces the uniquely vulnerable position”, that’s complete bull. It’s the exact opposite. Frequent travel to every corner of the globe is what endures we never now have populations with no exposure & thus little immunity to novel pathogens.
We’ve never been in better shape to protect ourselves as a species.
DONT BELIEVE THESE CRIMINAL LIARS! Global pandemics of severe illnesses aren’t possible.
Please spread this insight. It’s quite simple, anyone can understand these concepts & once they do, they’ll ask “What are you up to, Gates?”
