man i gotta do more studies wtf literally like 2-3 hours of looking at reference and already feeling like i understand this area 100x better

been struggling with anatomy lately so maybe some targeted practice will help with that

sigh need to practice im so rusty

more practice, kinda annoying that i don't really have good 1-1 reference for anthro walk cycles

second try—this time paying much more attention to consistent volumes, secondary motion (arms, head), weight

(still don't like the way the lower legs move tbh hmmmm, kind of stiff since the angle doesn't change much)

(i think this is fixable if the body bobbing up and down is emphasized more? after all digi legs are much more flexible than planti)

(or maybe it's okay to keep the walk a little stiffer to give room for more contrast during the run)

upper body/shoulder rotation helps a lot more than i expected, timing of ups/downs also varies depending on the walk tempo which is interesting

stared a lot at reference footage today

human walks rely a lot on shifting body weight around and using gravity to your advantage, while animal walks are more flexible since you have the digi legs; striking a good balance in an anthro character is pretty hard

(at least it looks kinda better than my first attempt now that i'm focusing on the right stuff)
