I can’t speak for all prophecy teachers out there, especially ones who are thinking Putin is losing. They are simply looking at this one dimensionally and are judging the final outcome by current battles, and not looking at the bigger picture. Putin is NOT losing despite giving up ground in Ukraine. Tactical retreats are often to regroup and draw your enemy in, so you can envelop and crush them. The Russians are experts at this as Napoleon and Hitler found out the hard way.
