Call for Papers - Qualitative Inquiry as Praxis in L2 Studies

Objective:

The journal invites methodological, empirical, and theoretical papers that explore the transformative potential of qualitative research in second language (L2) studies.

Key Themes and Topics:

- Critical and antiracist language pedagogy
- Socially just and peace education in language classrooms
- Critical digital pedagogy
- Artificial intelligence and language education
- Multilingualism and translanguaging
- Language teacher education
- Identity and language learning and teaching
- Socio-applied linguistics
- Emotional and social dimensions of language learning

Methodologies Encouraged:

- Grounded theory, phenomenology, hermeneutics, narrative inquiry, classroom research, discourse analysis, critical discourse analysis, ethnography, auto-ethnography, and case studies.

Call for Papers – Special Issue on *Classroom Justice in Non-Western Higher Education Institutes*

Dear Colleagues, Researchers, and Students,

We are pleased to announce the call for papers for the upcoming Special Issue of the *Journal of Higher Education Policy and Leadership Studies (JHEPALS)* (Scopus-indexed) titled: "Classroom Justice in Non-Western Higher Education Institutes". This special issue seeks to explore perceptions, practices, and implications of classroom justice—encompassing distributive, procedural, and interactional Justice—in non-Western higher education contexts. We welcome empirical, theoretical, and methodological contributions addressing (but not limited to):

- Cultural/intercultural differences in classroom justice
- Assessment fairness, teacher-student interactions, and policy impacts
- Equity in curriculum design, technology-enhanced learning, and teacher/student well-being

Key Dates:
- Submission Deadline: September 30, 2025
- Final Decisions: Jan 31, 2026
- Publication: March 31, 2026

Manuscript categories:

Articles: 6000-8000 words
Reflections: 4000-5000 words
Colloquium: 2000-2200 words
