The Ministry of Transport and Logistics has announced the inclusion of electric-powered heavy-duty trucks in the country's ongoing transition to electric mobility.

This development follows a policy adjustment that extends the national electric vehicle (EV) strategy, which previously focused on passenger vehicles, to encompass heavy cargo trucks and industrial machinery.

According to the Ministry, electric-powered heavy cargo vehicles are now entering the country to support the modernization of the transport sector.

This move is intended to address the rising demand for electric alternatives and to reduce national dependence on fossil fuels, particularly in light of the ongoing fuel crisis and its impact on the logistics industry.
