Short numbers vs. "zeros and eights" numbers. Which is cooler?

Heated discussions unfold in many chats about which numbers are more expensive: short ones or those that have only 2 digits in their composition: 0 and 8. So which is more valuable in the long run?

There are only 357 7-digit numbers. There are 84 numbers that have only 0 and 8 in their composition. Now the price of 7-digit numbers is 2 times higher than for "zeros and eights", because 65% of people prefer the former, and 35% the latter. But due to the fact that there are 4 times fewer "zeros and eights", over time, with the growth of the deficit, the price for them should be 1.5-2 times higher than for short numbers.

The price for a mint of short numbers was 1000 TON (~111 Randoms), for example, +888 8 888.

The price for a mint of "zeros and eights" numbers was 10 times less, only 100 TON (~11 Randoms), for example, +888 0880 0880.

No matter how much hype there is in social networks, always think with your own head. And don't forget that mathematics is always ahead of emotions and subjectivity.

How many accounts are connected with +888 numbers?

The first to ask this question was the TON Upper channel. As of October 2023, there were over 59,000 accounts associated with Anonymous Numbers.

As of June 16, 2025, this number was 95,244.

As of November 2025, the number of such accounts stands at 94,845 (69.45% of the total collection of 136,566). The increase over just over two years is 35,845 accounts (+60.75%). There are still 41,721 unused numbers (30.55% of the total collection).

The increase in the number of accounts associated with 888 numbers indicates increased demand, a maturing market, and a growing shortage of numbers.

Many of these accounts are registered to numbers held in a small number of wallets. This is largely due to rental services. For example, over 450 accounts have been registered through Kate Smith's Rent alone!

Therefore, to achieve a full-fledged deficit, 70-80% of unique on-chain owners are needed (at the time of writing, this figure is 47,132 (34.51%)).

Continuation of a previous post

On October 1, 2025, loud cries of approval from all chats erupted about the removal of bans and spam blocks from numbers. At first, I thought this was done to reduce the negative connotations surrounding the numbers ahead of the Token 2049 and Blockchain Life conferences, which took place on October 1-2 and October 28-29, 2025, respectively.

Strangely, this unblocking occurred just before the cryptocurrency market crash, the collapse of TON, and the meteoric rise in the Floor price for numbers on October 10-11 and after. It's tempting to think that the unblocking was done to make it easier to push the price of numbers in TON.

Numbers are a Luxury Asset

Does the color of the number affect anything?

In the summer of 2023, there was a situation when some people were buying up black numbers en masse. One of the chat participants explained that there are many Easter eggs in the TON code, and black numbers are one of these "Easter eggs".

But after a thorough check, no match was found between the color and any unique additional characteristics. The color of the number was given randomly when minting the number. You can see this by going to the website: there are 20 colors in total, with 5,816 to 6,061 numbers for each color.

Why then did many people buy up black numbers and explain that they had some kind of "Easter egg"? Most likely, this was done in order to mislead the potential seller so that he would start looking at the color of the number instead of looking at the rarity and mask when selling.

Psychological Levels in Numbers

In finance, psychological level, is a price level in technical analysis that significantly affects the price of an underlying security, commodity or a derivative. Typically, the number is something that is "easy to remember," such as a rounded-off number (Source).

When an asset's price breaks through its next high and rises by one digit, it initially causes psychological discomfort in people. Imagine an Anonymous Number that was worth 950 TON yesterday and is worth 1,123 TON today.

The price of numbers started at 9 TON ($18), so their important psychological levels are:
10 TON-100 TON-1,000 TON-10,000 TON-100,000 TON…
$100-$1,000-$10,000-$100,000-$1,000,000…

While writing this article, we noticed a truly fundamental pattern. We discovered that important $ and TON levels alternate! Live and learn, as they say.

Dates when the price broke through an important level:
10 TON: December 14, 2022;
$100: February 27, 2023 (75 days later);
100 TON: May 12, 2023 (74 days later);
$1,000: August 14, 2024 (460 days later);
1,000 TON: October 11, 2025 (423 days later).

As we can see, the cycles lengthen and, after moving from 2-digit to 3-digit values, they last 74-75 days, and from 3-digit to 4-digit values, they last 423-460 days. Thus, as a result of extrapolation that has no scientific basis and does not stand up to scrutiny, we can assume that:

The next important milestone will be the $10,000 level which will reach $10,000 between December 2027 and December 2032;

After reaching $10,000, the Floor Price will reach 10,000 TON between March 2030 and February 2040.

By then, numbers will become a true status symbol and will be available only to the wealthiest cryptonaires!

TON DNS Summer (Part 1)

As we predicted, the hype around TON DNS has begun. The hype began with Four-Digit domains (hereinafter referred to as 4N domains). People are "burning" their 100 TON on the TON DNS smart contract and transferring this value to NFTs (similar to Banksy's work).

On February 13, the last domain from the Club 100 (0074.ton), was minted, on February 17, the thousandth domain (5755.ton), and on February 28, the last domain from the 1k Club (0863.ton).

The race is on, and people have already minted many beautiful numbers from various masks and special collections, although only 26% of the total supply has been minted.

On average, 117 4N domains are minted per day. At the current rate, 50% of the supply will be minted by March 22, 2026, 75% by April 12, 2026, and 100% by May 4, 2026.

Why 4N domains if there are already Telegram usernames?

1. Numbers are the international language of communication. They are simple and understandable for everyone around the world, unlike various alphabets (be it Latin, Cyrillic, Arabic, hieroglyphs, etc.).

2. There are 10^4 = 10,000 number combinations in 4N domains, which is 45.7 times less than in alphabetic domains 26^4 = 456,976 combinations.

3. The price for the 4L username is fixed at 5,000 TON ($8,000). The price for the 4N domain on mint is approximately $130, which is 61.54 times cheaper!

4. Only domains can consist of numbers, while usernames must contain at least one letter. Therefore, 4N domains are beyond competition in the TON ecosystem.

5. The ability to associate attractive domain digits with a gift number. An example is here. There are dozens of different collections of gifts with identical numbers, but only one 4N domain can be associated with them!

6. The TON ecosystem will have thousands of AI agents, and they will need a short digital domain for convenience.

7. TON Browser and TON Messenger are being developed, with user login via TON DNS.

Why is this post on the channel about numbers included in the monthly column?

1. Both Collectible Numbers and numeric domains consist solely of digits. These domains have the potential to become luxury assets, as Collectible Numbers already are.

2. Both 4N domains and Collectible Numbers have their own masks and subcollections, which facilitates easy pricing and marketmaking.

3. The number of such domains is 10,000, which is 13.66 times less than the total supply of Collectible Numbers (136,566). The total market capitalization of Collectible Numbers is $2,250*136,566=$307,273,500. If domains have the same market capitalization, then dividing $307,273,500 by 10,000 yields a floor price of $30,727 for 4N domains in the medium to long term.

4. Minting 100 4N domains now is equivalent to minting approximately 100*13.66=1,366 Collectible Numbers in December 2022.

5. The mint price of a Collectible Number in December 2022 was approximately $18. The mint price of a 4N domain is approximately $130, which is $18 x 13.66/$130 = 1.89 times more profitable in dollar terms. In TON, this value equals 9 TON*13.66/100 TON = 1.23 times.

6. Rare 4N domain patterns act as a hedge and are protected from "domain inflation," similar to rare Collectible Numbers patterns in the event of their hypothetical new minting. There is only one domain in TON, 8888.ton. There is only one 8888.eth on the Ethereum network, just like there is one 8888.sol on the Solana network. And as you already know, mathematics is always ahead of emotions and subjectivity.

7. Collectible Numbers are a protective mechanism against TON price decreasing, as they retain their value in $, regardless of the TON price. Perhaps we'll see something similar with 4N domains.

8. There are 4N domains with the same digits as Collectible Numbers. We're confident that after integrating the TON wallet into Telegram, the owner of the number +888 8888 will want to link 8888.ton to his/her profile.

9. Telegram currently has over 1 billion users. That's over 1 billion/136,566=7,322 users per 1 Collectible Number. By 2028, TON cryptocurrency is expected to be used by 500 million people. That's 500 millions/10,000=50,000 4N domains per crypto user!

10. History is cyclical. Those who missed the opportunity to mint Collectibles Numbers for 9 TON in December 2022 or didn't believe in their potential can do so now in 4N domains; it's even more profitable in dollars and TON than it was back then. After the expected explosive growth of 4N domains, people who haven't yet owned Collectible Numbers will be able to transfer some of their profits to them.

11. In the future, it will likely be possible to lease your domains. In this case, 4N domains will be the most liquid on the market and will generate triple profits: growth of the domain itself in TON, growth of the TON price in USD, and passive income from the lease while you patiently hold the domain, similar to Collectible Numbers.
