Stephanopoulos apologizes after saying Biden can't serve another term.
TMZ released a video Tuesday appearing to show a pedestrian on a New York City street asking Stephanopoulos, "Do you think Biden should step down?"
"I don't think he can serve four more years," Stephanopoulos responds.
The clip quickly gained traction on social media.ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos apologized Tuesday for telling a stranger that he doesn't think President Biden can serve another four years in office.
Earlier today I responded to a passerby. I shouldn't have," Stephanopoulos said in a statement Tuesday night response to the video's release, ABC News reported.
In its own statement, ABC News said that Stephanopoulos had "expressed his own point of view and not the position of ABC News."

CNN CEO Mark Thompson to lay off 100 employees as he discloses fresh turnaround plans
CNN CEO Mark Thompson revealed to staffers Wednesday a drastic new plan to push the cable news network into the digital age β and signaled that job cuts are coming.
The media boss called the incoming changes β which will include a new subscription service and structural changes to the newsroom β a βkey milestone in the transformation of CNNβ in his memo to company employees.
Thompson said he plans to lay off 100 employees β about three percent of the workforce β as well as build a new digital subscription service that he hopes will generate more than $1 billion in revenue.
