This was the major showstopper for many services, and now no more. Another item worth noting is the start of the Advent of Code - everyday programming tasks for the whole of December.

Improving Kafka client performance by 40% by cleaning up unused Topic Metadata By LinkedIn 👷‍♂️
You might wonder how empty topics can slow down a Kafka Cluster, but they actually do: metadata is still stored in ZooKeeper, the partitions polls it etc. At scale it can be significant. 20 декабря - официальное открытие, с 21 по 23 декабря - основной этап.

У участников будет время на решение кейса, после чего они продемонстрируют системы позиционирования БПЛА через распознавание видео, поиск путевых точек по ориентирам в условиях отсутствия спутниковых систем навигации и внешнего управления на финальной питч-сессии.

По итогам Хакатона будут определены победители, которые получат денежный приз: 1 место – 1 000 000 руб., 2 место – 300 000 руб., 3 место – 200 000 руб.
