In this introductory class for CSAT, Dr. Mansoor Agha explains the difference in the preparation for CSAT/GS Paper 2 and the preparation needed for Prelims GS Paper 1 and Main exam. Most students overfocus on GS preparation without realizing that 70% of serious students actually fail in CSAT. This wastes all the hard work put into the GS preparation.

Moreover, a lot of students believe that CSAT is a test of Mathematics and English and prepare in an incorrect manner. Students should know that CSAT stands for the Civil Service Aptitude Test. It is an aptitude test or a modified IQ test, which tests the sharpness of your brain rather than the English or Mathematics that a student knows. Mathematics and English are the language in which the questions tests for intelligence and many covert parameters.

Dr. Mansoor Agha joined Raus IAS Study Circle as Academic Head in 2010, when UPSC had first announced introduction of the CSAT exam. Dr. Mansoor Agha designed the CSAT Foundation Course at Raus and has taught it for the last 15 years. In these 15 successful years of the CSAT Foundation Course, he and his academic team have constantly improved it according to the feedback given by the students and how students benefited from it.

This introductory class for CSAT also focused on holistic preparation of UPSC to balance the preparation of Prelims GS Paper 1, Prelims GS Paper 2/CSAT and the Main UPSC exam. The agenda was :
1. Process of UPSC preparation
2. Parameters tested in GS prelims and Main exam
3. Parameters tested in CSAT exam
4. Understand how UPSC preparation is different from Indian school/college exams
5. Difference in preparation for GS subjects w.r.t. College/School exams preparation
6. Difference in preparation for CSAT subjects w.r.t. GS subjects’ preparation
7. Balancing your preparation for Prelims GS Paper 1, CSAT and Main exam
8. Synchronize your Prelims, Main exam and Personal Interview preparation
9. Timelines to be maintained, starting from 2 years before exams
10. Understand what is overtly and covertly tested on CSAT subjects
11. How to do long-term and short-term preparation of CSAT
12. How can IvyLeague help you in fulfilling your dream career

This will be the last CSAT batch for this year. It has limited seats. The weekend batch is already full, so, if you are interested, we recommend that you enroll at the earliest.

Features of the CSAT Foundation Course program are :
1. The course is conducted through live online. Classes are conducted on weekdays in the evening at 8pm, so that they do not clash with your GS classes.
2. You will attend 3 classes a week for 3 months.
3. For an effective revision, even after 3 months, you will still remain in touch with us because of regular practice exercises, tests, test discussions and some classes, as required.
4. Missing classes and relying on watching a recording is a bad idea. Recorded videos of the classroom sessions will be made available for revision, with restrictions. We do not want you to miss classes as topics build on each other sequentially.
