Israel has officially appealed to the International Criminal Court (ICC) to cancel the arrest warrants issued for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

This request is part of Israel’s broader appeal challenging the ICC’s authority to handle the case related to the Gaza war.

According to documents dated May 9 and signed by Deputy Attorney General Gilad Noam, Israel also demands the suspension of the court’s war crimes investigation.

The ICC had initially issued the warrants on November 21, 2024, accusing Netanyahu and Gallant of war crimes and crimes against humanity linked to Israeli genocide in Gaza.
Hours after targeting Nasser Hospital and assassinating journalist Hassan Eslaih, the Israeli occupation army launched a series of airstrikes targeting the European Hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip.

According to the latest toll, 10 Palestinians were massacred, and dozens were injured, including three journalists, in the Israeli attack on the European Hospital.
UNRWA stated in a recent report that famine in Gaza has increased by 250% compared to previous estimates, amid the ongoing severe siege imposed by Israel, which prevents the entry of essential humanitarian aid.

It confirmed that over two million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are at risk of severe famine, with one in every five people facing the threat of hunger, due to the ongoing Israeli genocide and tight blockade on the Strip.

A recorded voice of slain veteran journalist Hassan Eslaih refutes Israeli claims that he participated in the October 7 operation, confirming that the event started at 6:00 a.m. while he was asleep. By 8:00 a.m., he had rushed to the border to document the event like any journalist. The first picture of a tank on the dividing line, captured on his mobile phone, was taken at 8:00 or 8:30 a.m.

Hassan Eslaih was assassinated today in an Israeli drone attack while receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained a month ago in the first assassination attempt. That attack left him with severe wounds, including a skull fracture, two amputated fingers, and extensive burns across his body.
More than 600 prominent figures from the arts, media, and cultural sectors, including Oscar-winning actress Susan Sarandon, comedian Frankie Boyle, director Mike Leigh, and journalist Lindsey Hilsum, signed an open letter urging the BBC to air the postponed documentary Gaza: Medics Under Fire.

The letter states, "We write to you again with deep concern about the censorship of Palestinian voices – this time, medics operating in unimaginable conditions in Gaza," and, addressed to BBC Director-General Tim Davie, it condemns the broadcaster for withholding the film, which conveys the suffering of Palestinian healthcare workers amid Israeli aggression, despite undergoing extensive editorial reviews and fact-checking.
