Doctors Without Borders (MSF) said in a statement that Israel continues to maintain their siege on Gaza, blocking access to basic aid and medicine, including pain killers, many patients have been “left to endure excruciating pain with limited or no relief."
Dr. Ahmad Abu Warda, an MSF medical activity manager working at Nasser Hospital, told Al Jazeera that “Children scream as we are forced to peel burned fabric from their skin. They beg us to stop, but if we don’t remove the dead tissue, infection and sepsis can lead to death. Without enough medical supplies, and with too many patients needing care for burn injuries, we are not able to provide proper care. We are merely delaying inevitable infections.”
MSF also said that there is a rise in the number of patients with burn injuries, 70%, of them are children, since Israel resumed its war on Gaza on March 18.

The famine crisis is also combined with the displacement of 500,000 people in Gaza since Israel broke the ceasefire deal last month.
In a post on X, UNRWA pointed out that a series of Israeli evacuation orders pushed Palestinians to areas less than a third of the Gaza Strip. The remaining lands are "fragmented, unsafe and barely liveable", according to the UN.
