70-year-old elderly Lebanese woman Najwa Ghacham refused to abandon her home in the village of Yaroun during the Israeli aggression on southern Lebanon.
She left her home only a short time and then walked back. She survived the aggression, but Israeli forces executed her inside her house, despite the ceasefire taking effect on November 27.
Her son, Nour Ghacham, recounted his mother's deep love to her home, telling Middle East Eye, “It was clear she cherished it.”

During a session in the House of Commons, British MP Zarah Sultana denounced the blocking of the arrest of Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, who was complicit in war crimes in Gaza, and asked UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer why the British government didn’t arrest him.
Speaking to The Guardian, British-Australian doctor Mohammed Mustafa exposed Israel's appalling crimes in the Gaza Strip and described the unimaginable horrors of the night of March 18, when Israel broke the ceasefire and killed hundreds of civilians.
Dr. Mustafa recently returned to home after completing his second medical mission in Gaza. He had volunteered at the Baptist Hospital, once the last fully functioning hospital in Gaza City, before it was bombed by Israeli warplanes.
Now back in Australia, Dr. Mustafa is seeking a meeting with Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, and Foreign Affairs Minister, Penny Wong, aiming to discuss how Australia can provide tangible support on the ground.
