How does Qamon email encryption work❓

📧 We currently use the Ylide protocol to encrypt and transmit messages. All messages are stored in encrypted form within a smart contract. Encryption occurs locally using a key generated during registration with Qamon.

📧 When generating a message, you encrypt it using a unique public and secret key, generated solely for that message. Next, you encrypt the secret key asynchronously using the recipient's public key (or several recipients) and transfer it to the blockchain to save gas for each sent message.

📧 The key can only be decrypted by the recipient whose public key it was encrypted with.

How to create an account on Qamon❓

The Qamon mobile app is designed to be an all-in-one secure messaging tool. And if you don't have an Everscale account yet, you can create one right from the app!

Simply follow the steps below:
1️⃣On the welcome screen, click "Create a new account"
2️⃣Accept the Decentralization Policy and click "Submit"
3️⃣Save your seed phrase in a safe place and click "I wrote it down on paper"
4️⃣Verify that you have saved the phrase and click "Confirm"
5️⃣Create a password and click "Confirm"

How does Qamon file encryption work❓

📧 For files, we now use an asymmetric encryption algorithm, similarly to that used for messages, with the keys that you generated during registration. We parse files to bytes - encrypt them, then assemble them into files and send them to IPFS. In response, we get a link that we attach to the message and encrypt as described previously.

📧 Each link contains an already encrypted file that the recipient can only download after first decrypting the message and then decrypting it locally after downloading.

How does Qamon contact encryption work❓

📧 For address book records contacts we use the native EVER Wallet encryption method with the chacha20poly1305 algorithm.

📧 Contacts are stored in IFPS just like images or files and they are also available via a link (the link contains your address). Encrypted data is only transferred to recipient wallets.

Creating a signature in the mobile app

A signature helps you represent yourself or your organization consistently in emails, adding legitimacy and branding and saving you time.

You can easily create multiple signatures for your account in the Qamon mobile app.

Here’s how:

1️⃣Open the app menu and select “Settings”

2️⃣Tap the plus sign to the right of “Signature”

3️⃣Enter the text for your signature. You can add your Web3 or company name and any relevant links. When you’re done, click “Confirm”

4️⃣When you send a message, just select your signature on the bottom left
