There has been a not so subtle effort to squeeze Thanksgiving out as a celebrated holiday.
With Halloween going from a sweet night for children to dress in disguise and walk the neighborhood for sugar treats, to a month long ghoul fest for adults ... and Christmas being increasingly hyped for spending money …Thanksgiving is losing importance.

This weekend, which celebrated the beginning of the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah, brought devastating acts of murder and mayhem to many parts of the world—including to the United States at an Ivy League university. At the moment, it appears many of these attacks were done by Muslims against Jewish people.
While some wars are easily defined ... between two counties over sometimes ancient disputes... we now have a world war that is tougher to conceptualize.
