can you help me come with a good approach, coneptually, to selecting points in a 2D array that will represent the center of an island for my procedurally built sailing world?
my world is built by n by n mesh chunks. I'm trying to come up with a good algorithm for selecting which chunks will be the center of an island. the factors would be the size of the world (which can be determined based off the number of chunks), size of the island, and then of course the number of islands. placing them all perfectly spread apart is an option I guess, but not a very interesting one imo. any help with this would be greatly appreciated as I am at a loss.

Added a web viewer to my mesh generation software to expose parameters to quickly iterate on a design. Also took some time to learn about web sockets so multiple people can edit the mesh at once
