Environmental Storytelling in the Physical and Virtual Worlds

Hey Everyone - XR Bootcamp is here,

In XR Design Fellowship Module 3, we'll explore the influences of theme parks, theatre, and game design on creating immersive VR environments. Don Carson, ex-Walt Disney Imagineer, game designer, and Sr. Art Director for Walkabout Mini Golf describes how narratives can be baked into the design of both physical and virtual world experiences.

What's the standard name for methods of placing vertices on implicit models?

For making triangles from vertices, it is called "polygonization". But for placing vertices themselves, what is that called, so I can go out and find resources on it?

3D Model Variations

Hey
I'm starting a new project, and I've wanted to know if it's possible to use procedural generation to solve it although I know there is already some related work about it using generative AI.

Imagine having a basic 3D model, and instead of manually creating multiple variations could we generate different versions automatically based on another 3D model? I am talking about the geometry itself and also the textures.

Has anyone tried something like this before? Any tips, tools, or algorithms you could share?
I apologize for anything I say wrong, as procedural generation and 3D modelling is something new to me :)
Thanks!
