HOW DO I START????

Hello guys , I am working on my final year project.
for this I am planning to use the concept of procedural generation.


The theme is procedural generation of an residential building like homes (generation includes floor plan and structures).


As I am new to this concept , not sure where to start.


Can anyone help with referring some documents/report which would help me start with it. Also if any video presentation./Tutorials are available it would be great.

Are there any algorithms for achieving level layouts like these?

I'm trying to end up with layouts similar to these:

Unfortunately I can only find algorithms that produce results like this:
