1.5 Characteristics of Primates - Evolutionary Trend
9.1 Human Genetics – Methods and Application: D.N.A. technology and recombinant technologies.

In Primatology, the anatomy of non-human primates especially monkeys and apes has been studied to ascertain the similarities and differences between these primates and humans.

One of the most striking anatomical features of apes, which sets them apart from monkeys, is the absence of a tail. All mammals have a tail at some point during their development, but apes, including humans, chimpanzees, bonobos, gorillas, orangutangs, and gibbons, lose them in utero, leaving behind three to five vestigial vertebrae called the coccyx, or tailbone.

Apes started to lose their tails in this way around 25 million years ago, when the ape and monkey lineages split from a common ancestor.

The climate crisis has a disproportionate impact on women and girls, especially those living in poverty. Here are some key impacts:

1. Health risks
2. Food insecurity
3. Work burdens
4. Gender-based violence
5. Water scarcity
6. Mental health

It is important to recognize and address these gender-specific impacts of the climate crisis to ensure that women and girls are not disproportionately affected and that their rights and well-being are protected.
