The 51-year-old, who lives in Austria, spotted the predator swimming towards him and tried to grab the anchor rope to lift himself to safety, but it was too late. Cannabis activists to celebrate 48th Hash Bash festival in Ann Arbor ๐Ÿ•บ Like any large on-campus event, it comes with challenges. For starters, good luck trying to park anywhere downtown Saturday. Hash Bash typically mixes political activism with a party atmosphere. The focus in previous years has been legalization at the state level, but that discussion is expected to turn toward legalization at a federal level this year. Don't be surprised if members of the Michigan congressional delegation show up to talk about federal legalization. The event draws a large crowd, not necessarily all students. โ€œIโ€™ll eventually check it out one of my years here, but Iโ€™m not sure Iโ€™m going tomorrow,โ€ freshman Julian Jacobs said. Final exams are looming. โ˜บ๏ธ

Gangs from all over the city of Los Angeles came together in a peaceful vigil for the slain Nipsey Hussle (center) after leaders worked on a general truce this week. Gang members met in the Crenshaw neighborhood of Los Angeles and marched to The Marathon Clothing store where the rapper was gunned down. The unity rally was unlike anything seen between Los Angeles street gangs since 1992 and organizers look to build on the vigil to build a lasting peace.

Shocking footage captured on an Ipad shows the dog barking wildly at the big cat before the dangerous animal edges forward and bares its teeth. The dog's owner said he eventually got the big cat to go away by hitting it on the head with a stick and hurling a small log at it. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ข

President Trump received a warm welcome in at least one section of LA today, a day after backing off his latest threat to close the border between Mexico and the United States. After inspecting the 30-foot 'bollard wall' at the Calexico-Mexicali border, Trump flew on to Los Angeles for a private fundraising event in Beverley Hills with a key GOP donor. Later, he was cheered as he arrived at his Rancho Palos Verdes golf club where he shook hands with enthusiastic guests and enjoyed dinner with his son Eric. While guests at the dinner were seemingly overjoyed to meet him, not everyone in LA was glad of his arrival. Protesters were seen in the area holding signs slamming the president.
