We are grateful that our trooper and K-9 werenβt injured in yesterdayβs crash caused by a driver who failed to yield.
Incidents like this highlight just how quickly dangerous situations can unfold with poor decisions.
Thank you to our partners Douglas County Sheriff for their quick response and for sharing video that clearly shows the risks first responders face every day.
Crashes like this are preventable. The dangers are real, for our troopers, for other first responders, and for every person on the road.
Weβre asking all drivers: slow down, stay alert, and make safe, lawful decisions behind the wheel. Yield when required, avoid impatient maneuvers, and give others the space they need to travel safely.
Smart choices behind the wheel can save lives, including the lives of those who are out there protecting yours.
