Two San Diego police officers who were on foot in a Pacific Beach intersection were struck by a car operated by a wrong-way driver who was believed intoxicated.

The suspect's Honda Civic was eastbound in westbound lanes when it struck the on-duty officers, Carrosco said. It was unclear what the officers were doing in the roadway.

One officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to a trauma center.

The man’s father appeared in court Tuesday as authorities said he was complicit in the 4-year-old boy’s death

We’re happy to share that Officer Hobart, who was involved in Sunday’s on-duty accident, has been discharged from the hospital and is doing well. While he’ll be away from work for a bit as he recovers, he stopped by the police station to let everyone know he’s okay and to say hello to his coworkers.

It was great to see him back at the station, even if just for a visit. Thank you to everyone who has reached out with support and well-wishes. It’s been truly appreciated.

We’re also working on a video that will walk through what happened during this incident and the response that followed. We’ll be sharing that soon.
