Ohio: A police chase left an officer injured and the suspect with a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Mt. Sterling on Monday.
According to Ross County, South Bloomfield police, as well as the Pickaway County Sheriff's Office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol, joined the pursuit of the suspect, which eventually traveled into Madison County.
That's where the South Bloomfield police officer was struck by a tractor-trailer at the intersection of London and Main streets in downtown Mt. Sterling at about 11 a.m. That officer is said to be OK.

Texas: A Cleveland police officer sustained serious injuries early Tuesday morning while trying to coax a large alligator off the mainlanes of the SH 105 bypass.
Sgt. David Edwards, accompanied by another passerby, was called to the scene around 12:40 a.m. and stepped in to try and remove the alligator from the roadway to prevent a potential tragedy involving passing motorists. According to Chief Darrel Broussard, the 10-foot, 3-inch reptile was refusing efforts to remove him from the roadway.

On Friday, May 3, 2024, Lancaster Sheriff's Station personnel attended AV Law Day presented by Friends of the Fair.
During the event, County personnel are recognized for their hard work and dedication for the betterment of our community. Deputy Portillo, a four-year veteran of LASD, was recognized as Deputy of the Year! Deputy Portillo joined the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department in December 2019 and began his patrol career at Lancaster Station in March 2020. Deputy Portillo has been assigned to patrol, Lancaster Community Appreciation Project Team (LANCAP), and is now one of Lancasterโs newest Field Training Officers!
