BIDENOMICS: Nike to lay off 2% of employees, cutting more than 1,500 jobs during broad restructuring.

In a companywide email Thursday night, Nike CEO John Donahoe said that the cutbacks will not impact store employees, store managers or distribution center workers.

Please pray for the Los Angeles Police officer who was shot in the line of duty this morning. 🙏

The shooting was reported at 7:52 a.m. Friday near the 13200 block of Paxton Street. 

Authorities responded to a domestic violence call at a residence in the area. Upon arrival, a confrontation ensued, resulting in gunfire. One officer sustained a gunshot wound to the hand and was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment. The officer has not been identified, but sources with the LAPD said the officer is 27 years old.

On Feb 5th, CBP officers at the Nogales POE seized approximately 330,880 fentanyl pills, 4.7 lbs fentanyl powder, 22.65 lbs meth and 1.19 lbs cocaine hidden inside the spare tire of a car. The same day, officers seized approximately 33,220 fentanyl pills strapped to a person.

NEW: Per CBP source, Border Patrol’s San Diego sector apprehended another 212 Chinese nationals who crossed illegally yesterday in Jacumba, California.

They were part of 6,700+ migrant encounters at the southern border yesterday.

Las Vegas: LVMPD investigation underway to find a man suspected of attempting to lure an 11-year-old girl into his car while inappropriately touching himself on Thursday in the northwest valley.

It happened on Cottonsparrow Street. The girl was walking home from school to her grandmother’s house when she was approached by the man, according to her father. She ran away.

Car is a black 2-door sedan. If you’ve seen him or the car call 702-828-8577.

OIS Foothill Division: Around 8:20am, Foothill Division officers responded to a Restraining Order Violation radio call at a residence on the 13200 block of Paxton St. When officers arrived, they were directed to the suspect who was in a back-house.

During the use of force, the suspect’s handgun was discharged and an officer involved shooting occurred.  The suspect was not struck by gunfire. However, one of our officers sustained an injury to his hand during the altercation. The suspect’s gun was recovered as evidence.

The officers entered the house to take the suspect into custody when they were involved in a use of force, a taser was deployed to no effect.

The officer was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and is listed in stable condition.  The suspect, only described as a 50 year old male was taken to the station and will be medically evaluated prior to booking.

No other officers or community members were injured.

Please pray for the Jackson Police officer who was seriously injured in the line of duty this morning. 🙏

Mississippi: A Jackson police officer was severely injured after being hit by a suspect's car in the parking lot of Merit Health Central this morning. Police said the officer, who is the leader of the CIT unit, was responding to a call about a mental health subject.

Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade said the injured officer, Anthony Johnson, is the leader of the Jackson Police Department’s Crisis Intervention Team unit.

According to the police chief, the other responding officers fired shots at the suspect, who was not hit. Wade said Johnson was in very serious condition and being treated at Merit Health Central.
