WATCH: Sheriff Robert Luna and Homicide Investigators will provide additional information regarding the Murder of Deputy Clinkunbroomer who was shot while inside his patrol car on Saturday September 16th, 2023 at approximately 6pm.

Sheriff Robert Luna says that investigators have determined that the "vehicle of interest" seen approaching the slain deputy's car on Saturday is believed to be a dark gray 2006 to 2012 model Toyota Corolla.

UPDATE: Joint Base Charleston (S.C.) says they are looking for an F-35 plane after a ‘mishap’ involving a pilot being ejected from it on Sunday.

The incident involved a Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort F-35B Lighting II jet from Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron (VMFAT) 501 with the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, according to public affairs specialist Jeremy Huggins.

Huggins says the pilot was safely ejected and taken to a hospital where they are in stable condition.

The F-35 was apparently on autopilot during the time of the ejection. Charleston was landing runway 15 (to the southeast) at the time meaning the F-35 possibly has flown itself out into the Atlantic Ocean
