POA20 is now available at DEX.ag

Dex.ag is a dex aggregator. It shows rates for different decentralized exchanges including Uniswap, Bancor and IDEX.

Check out how easy it is to buy or sell POA20 on DEX.ag. We’ve got a quick tutorial available here:

In our latest tutorial we use 1inch.exchange to view rates and swap $ETH for POA20 & POA20 for $BAT. But you can swap POA20 to and from any supported ERC20 tokens (and there are tons of tokens supported)!

Aggregators like 1inch allow you to quickly compare rates on multiple Dexs and decide which exchange to use. Depending on the circumstances, operations may also be split over multiple exchanges.

See how versatile POA & POA20 really are and try it out yourself!

POA Governance Update

🗳Emission Fund Ballot Finalized
A ballot was just finalized to direct emission funds to the POA Foundation. This show of support from the network validators will help drive development efforts and accelerate POA token use-case expansion.

🗳On-Chain Governance Results
Recent governance decisions include adding and removing several validators and changing the number of votes needed to pass certain measures.

See the recent results and details in our new quarterly report:

🎂 Yesterday, POA Network officially turned 2 (Core network established Dec 15, 2017)! It’s been a wild ride on the crypto rollercoaster these past 2 years, and through it all POA Network has continued to innovate and push the boundaries of what’s possible, even in challenging market conditions.

Since the network began, it has experienced no downtime, validators have processed millions of transactions and blocks (see the most up-to-date details with BlockScout ) and we’ve proven that on-chain self-governance can work. That’s no small feat, and is something to celebrate! 🎉🎉

As we reflect on 2 years in operation, we look forward to continued self-governance, new partnerships, adoption, and additional traction in the years to come. We certainly appreciate the validators, users, and early adopters who believe in POA Network and our unique role within the greater blockchain ecosystem.

As we approach the POA Core Network Istanbul upgrade, Binance is providing official upgrade support. Trading will not be impacted, however, POA deposits and withdrawals to Binance will halt temporarily as Binance completes the update.

🗓Update is scheduled in ~ 12.5 hours (07:00 UTC Thursday December 19, 2019) at block 12,598,600 .

Please plan accordingly, Binance will handle all technical requirements and deposit/withdrawal functionality will resume shortly following the update.

On-Chain Randomness is coming soon to POA! The first update will occur on the Sokol Testnet:

• Block: 13391641
• Date: ~8:00am UTC February 20th

On-chain random numbers will be accessible by smart contracts to use as a seed for their own random number generators. This opens up new use cases for applications that need a reliable, decentralized source of randomness.

🎲 Learn more about how it works:

POA just returned from the EthDenver hackathon this past weekend (https://www.ethdenver.com/). We had a great and productive time networking with projects and supporting our sister chain xDai. All food purchases and donations ran on the xDai chain. In addition, participants could collect XP points for completing various quests, which were then used for hackathon voting. This all ran on xDai! It was awesome to see how users and devs are embracing POA-based chains for many different purposes where speed and transaction optimizations are required.

We spoke with projects looking at new POA-based use cases including:

- leveraging existing bridges to connect chains with one another
- using a POA structure to launch new DAOs (Decentralized Autonomous Organizations)
- integrating applications with POA to take advantage of the upcoming on-chain randomness feature
- and more!

It was an awesome hackathon, and we’re looking forward to the innovations, collaborations and partnerships that will come out of it in 2020!
Video is now up from the Ethereum Classic summit last October. In this session, POA tech writer Andrew Gross speaks on BlockScout features, the TokenBridge and other tools available for ETC devs and users. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqDhMXJHIxM

In a few weeks, POA will be at the Ethereum Community Conference in Paris https://ethcc.io/ presenting in greater detail on some of these same topics. Tech Lead Igor Barinov will speak on the Arbitrary Message Bridge, and lead dev Victor Baranov will present an in-depth BlockScout workshop.
🎉 On-Chain randomness is here! We've been working on this feature for a long time, and the upgrade was smooth and functions as expected.

Sokol was successfully upgraded at 8:06 UTC, 02/20/2020, block # 13391661. A random seed is generated by validators in a RANDAO manner.

More on the importance of randomness, why it is difficult to achieve on a blockchain,  and how to use the new randomness feature with a smart contract:
https://www.poa.network/for-developers/on-chain-random-numbers

After a period of testing on Sokol, we plan to upgrade POA core. This feature provides contracts with an on-chain, decentralized source of reliable randomness.
We are working on dev and testing for a killer new POA app (details to come). To facilitate the process, we’ve upped the Sokol faucet to dispense 100 SPOA rather than 0.5 SPOA!

To use the faucet for your own testing purposes, simply go to the faucet url, enter your address, then connect to the Sokol RPC.

POA Network is at EthCC, which starts tomorrow (https://ethcc.io/). We’ll be presenting twice at the conference, if you are here we hope to see you!

Workshops and Presentations:

Victor Baranov, lead BlockScout engineer, will conduct a workshop on deploying and customizing BlockScout. https://docs.blockscout.com/

• Wednesday, March 4
• 10:35 - 11:15 am
• Location: Pontoise

Igor Barinov, POA Tech Lead, will present on the Arbitrary Message Bridge, a new bridge designed to relay any type of data between chains.  Applications can build extensions on top of an existing AMB without needing to deploy their own infrastructure. https://docs.tokenbridge.net/amb-bridge/about-amb-bridge

• Thursday, March 5
• 12:55pm - 1:15pm
• Location: Sorbonne
Calling all POA Supporters - we need your expertise!

🤑 We are working on the first official POA DApp called POA Mania.
🎲 It’s a new no-loss lottery game where POA holders can win POA emission funds.
💰 There is no risk of loss, only the opportunity to win POA.
🎱 POA Mania will use on-chain randomness and feature an ever growing prize pool.

We think POA Mania will help with POA adoption and provide users a chance to use blockchain tech in an easy, no-risk and intuitive way - all with the chance to win POA.

And…..we need our dedicated users to test it out first and help us improve POA Mania!

1. Join the telegram group for updates and winners https://t.me/poamania
2. Get yourself some SPOA (Sokol POA) https://www.poa.network/for-developers/getting-tokens-for-tests/sokol-testnet-faucet
3. Try it out!  https://poa-mania.herokuapp.com/

Questions, comments and feedback welcome.
On-Chain Randomness has Arrived!

On-chain randomness is now live on POA Core. After successfully testing on Sokol, a majority of validators upgraded their nodes today to start producing on-chain, decentralized random numbers.

These secure numbers can be used by applications that need randomness and don't want to rely on 3rd party or centralized RNGs. This advancement will open the doors for new use cases and DApps deploying to the POA Network!
