Addis Ababa Science and Technology University (AASTU) hosted Professor Mulatu Fekadu Zerihun, Head of the Department of Economics at Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), South Africa, and UNESCO Chairholder in African Integration and Innovation, as part of the University’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international collaboration and advance its internationalization and Africanization agenda.
TUT is the largest residential university in South Africa and one of the leading universities of technology on the African continent.

A delegation of academic staff from Fırat University, Turkey, paid an official visit to Addis Ababa Science and Technology University (AASTU) under the Erasmus+ exchange program. The visit aimed to promote cultural exchange and further strengthen institutional collaboration between the two universities.
During the visit, the delegation held productive discussions with AASTU representatives focusing on academic cooperation, staff mobility, and the sharing of experiences in teaching, research, and innovation.

ETA Provides Accreditation Management Information System Training to AASTU Staff

Addis Ababa Science and Technology University (AASTU), through its Educational Quality Assurance and Enhancement Directorate, organized an intensive Accreditation Management Information System (AMIS) training for academic staff from the Engineering and Applied Science programs. The training was delivered by experts from the Education and Training Authority (ETA) and focused on national program accreditation standards.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Dereje Engida, President of AASTU, emphasized the University’s strong commitment to educational quality assurance .

The MoU was initiated by the AI and Robotics Center of Excellence at AASTU with the aim of fostering joint initiatives, knowledge exchange, and practical innovation. Through this partnership, the two institutions will work together on research, capacity building, technology development, and the application of robotics and industrial automation solutions to address industry needs.
This collaboration is expected to enhance hands-on learning opportunities, promote innovation, and contribute to the advancement of robotics and automation technologies in Ethiopia.

Addis Ababa Science and Technology University (AASTU) successfully hosted an insightful knowledge exchange session focused on the upcoming ERASMUS+ (CBHI) 2026 Grant Call, bringing together researchers and scholars within the university.
The workshop was organized by the HPC and Big Data Analytics (BDA) Center of Excellence, in collaboration with the College of Engineering Research and Technology Transfer Coordination Office, the Sustainable Energy Center of Excellence, and the AI and Robotics Center of Excellence. The session aimed to equip participants with practical, data-driven insights and hands-on guidance drawn from the experiences of seasoned Principal Investigators.
During the session, participants benefited from in-depth discussions on proposal preparation, consortium building, and strategic alignment with ERASMUS+ priorities.
