A hands-on training held, September 18/2025
A hands-on training session on photovoltaic technology was organized by Hubei University of Technology and Jinko Solar at the 10.53 kWp rooftop PV project site at the Addis Ababa Environmental Protection Authority on September 18. Students from Addis Ababa Science and Technology University participated in the program.
Dr. Liu Guangjun from the School of Electrical Engineering at Hubei University of Technology and Ms. Joanna ZhuoNa, Sales Director from Jinko Solar’s Sub-Saharan Africa Region, delivered on-site lectures covering the global development of photovoltaic technology, China’s experience in the field, as well as comprehensive theoretical knowledge sharing and practical skills. During the Q&A session, Professor Zeng Wei, Deputy Director of the Solar Energy Research Center at Hubei University of Technology, exchanged ideas with faculty and students from Addis Ababa Science and Technology University.
Following the theoretical instruction, the students enjoyed a presentation by Jasbel Energy (Benedeto Group), a local solar project EPC team, about local solar project execution and followed the project manager, Mr. Yonas Teshome, on a site tour. Students observed the installation of PV modules, wiring processes, and the commissioning of electrical control equipment. This face-to-face training and engagement opportunity provided students with a clear understanding of how green energy transforms our lives and future career opportunities in such a fulfilling energy industry.
Prior to the training, Professor Zeng Wei, on behalf of Hubei University of Technology, donated 18 pieces of Jinko Solar N-type Topcon PV dual glass modules with a total capacity of 10.53 kWp to Addis Ababa Science and Technology University. This empowers the university to take on further development and utilization of solar energy.
