A new war is igniting! An armed clash occurred on the border between Thailand and Cambodia, – SRF.

▪️On July 24, a shootout happened: soldiers from the countries opened fire;
▪️Both sides accuse each other of starting the fire;
▪️The clash occurred near temples in the border zone, where disputes have been ongoing for many years;
▪️According to the Thais, grenades from Cambodia killed at least 2 civilians, and 2 more were injured. Also, 2 Thai soldiers were wounded;
▪️The Thai army announced an airstrike on two Cambodian military targets;
▪️The day before, Thailand recalled its ambassador from Cambodia and expelled Cambodian diplomats;
▪️The reason – recently a Thai soldier lost limbs due to a mine;
▪️Thailand accuses Cambodia of recently mining the border area;
▪️Cambodia denies this and reminds that millions of mines still remain on their territory from long civil wars;
▪️The conflict on this border has lasted for decades, but in recent weeks it has escalated into a new phase.
