The bus driver was arrested and taken for questioning; the driver stated that he was attacked by rioters and therefore increased his speed. It also turned out that he managed to call the police and report the attack before hitting the pedestrians. The owners of the bus company Extra, which serves this route, have already been summoned for an urgent hearing at the Ministry of Transport in connection with the disaster.
As it turned out, a 14-year-old Yosef Eisenstat from the Ramot district of Jerusalem was killed. Three more 15-year-olds received minor injuries in the accident.
During the action, a group of journalists were also injured. The protesters threw stones at them. The victims needed medical help and were taken to the hospital.
On October 30, 2025, a mass protest of ultra-Orthodox people against military conscription also ended in tragedy - then a young man fell and died from a height of one of the unfinished high-rise buildings near Shazar Boulevard.
