"Medical Affairs is a really exciting place to work because you have to use a broad medical and pharmaceutical knowledge as the basis for daily work while building on skills in other areas, such as project management or data science.
The best part of my job is that I get to work with countries from around the world, which sometimes means early morning or late night meetings, but that’s what makes it diverse and fun. I enjoy being a part of a large organisation because there are great opportunities if you are a networker and it provides amazing insights in designing your own career path.
My professional mantra has always been that you need to look for another job if you dislike waking up on Mondays. When it comes to my job, I am excited about Mondays – I guess it means that I am in a good place!"

“I joined the wonderfully exciting, demanding and rewarding pharma industry in 2007, and it has been an incredible journey.

I joined the pharmacovigilance part of industry as a keen post-PhD scientist, and since have had incredible opportunities including building and developing a successful drug safety consultancy business, working with and leading colleagues from more than 90 countries, living and working abroad and leading organisations and groups in roles ranging from Company Director of a small consultancy to Global Head and Global Director roles in two of the world's top 10 pharma companies.

I am a firm believer that if you have passion and purpose in what you do and you are courageous enough to grab hold of opportunities as they present themselves to you, you will have a joyous and successful career.”

"Quality and Regulatory Affairs is a very unique role. Unlike many other positions, you have a top-line view of what the company is doing and get to have your say regardless of what level your position is. If you are an individual who enjoys autonomy and the ability to grow without any limits, with the limiting factor being only your potential, then this is the sort of role for you.
I enjoy the positive impact my role plays on people's lives and the fact that I play an integral part in ensuring product safety. The satisfaction I get from seeing the positive impact on end users as medical devices improves their lives is second to none."

"It's not just about becoming a Medical Science Liaison (MSL). What's really important is to have a purpose and I insist on that. I'm working as an MSL, because I really want to bring Innovation to patients. And this is the force that is driving me every morning when I wake up and go to work. It's not only a job title. It is something that you really have inside of you. So I would recommend you to take any opportunity that you have, even if it's not directly related to the role you are seeking. You have to have an open mind and learn what the position is trying to teach you. Then you will have a lot of lessons that will help you transition into the role that you want."
