#PeoplesHistory | happy birthday Karl Marx (1818–1883), one of the most important revolutionary philosophers, who also was an economist, journalist, and organizer.

Marx’s critique and diagnosis of capitalism transformed the struggle for emancipation worldwide. Marx developed the foundations of historical materialism, explaining how class struggle drives history, and exposed the mechanisms of exploitation at the heart of capitalism, including the extraction of surplus value.

Through works such as Capital and The Communist Manifesto, written with Friedrich Engels, he analyzed how capitalism concentrates wealth, deepens inequality, and alienates labor.

More than a theorist, Marx was a revolutionary committed to the organization of the working class. “Workers of the world, unite!” remains a call for collective struggle and liberation.

According to the Islamic Revolutionary Guards’ Corp (IRGC), the boats were carrying civilian goods from Oman towards the coast of Iran when they were targeted by the US navy. The IRGC characterized the attack on the civilian vessels as a result of US fear and desperation after it failed to implement the US president’s so-called “Project Freedom” announced on Sunday.

Audio recordings recently leaked by Hondurasgate and published by multiple media outlets suggest that a plan was hatched by the Trump administration, financed by Israeli capital and Argentine President Javier Milei, and agreed upon with local Honduran elites to return the former President Juan Orlando Hernández (convicted of drug trafficking and pardoned by the Trump administration) to power, persecute the left-wing opposition, and wage campaigns to discredit the progressive governments of Claudia Sheinbaum and Gustavo Petro, among others.

“What distinguishes the rulers of Abu Dhabi from others is not exceptional shrewdness or intelligence, but rather a willingness to become deeply subservient to the US, Israel, and the West, and an even greater readiness to assume all manner of dirty political, media, and security roles in numerous countries around the world.”

governments because their leaders had led confrontations against Modi’s national government on several issues.

There are three immediate takeaways from this election: first, the level of state manipulation in the elections through the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) certainly undermined faith in the electoral process, since it was seen to have enabled Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to win in West Bengal (population 100 million); second, the Gen-Z phenomenon, or the post-ideological politics wave, has entered India through the victory of film star Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) in Tamil Nadu (population 77 million); third, with the defeat of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala (population 36 million), there will be no Communist-led government in any part of India for the first time in five decades.

The upcoming France-Africa summit taking place in Nairobi, Kenya, appears to be not just a platform for development cooperation or business networking, but as part of a broader French strategic recalibration at a moment when its historic sphere of influence in Africa is undergoing profound strain. France’s expanding engagement with Anglophone Africa must be situated within the context of its declining influence in the Sahel.

The shift of strategy has already triggered resistance from Pan-African and progressive movements in Kenya. Progressive groups in Kenya and the continent have come together to organize the Pan-Africanism Summit Against Imperialism (PASAI), a parallel counter-summit in Nairobi
