Swedish activist Greta Thunberg is set to sail on the Global Sumud Flotilla and emphasized that the story must stay focused on the Palestinian people and Gaza, who are being deliberately starved by Israel in front of the eyes of the world. She once again rebuked Western leaders over their complicity with Israel and in turning their backs on Palestinians.

As at least 50 ships get ready to cross the Mediterranean, People’s Health Dispatch spoke with Dr. James Smith, a British doctor and health activist with Medact and the People’s Health Movement (PHM).

Having volunteered in Gaza during the genocide – and repeatedly blocked from returning by Israeli authorities – Smith now continues his solidarity work through the Flotilla’s latest launch.

🇨🇳 80 years since China's defeat of fascism

China marked the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and the end of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression with a massive military parade.

Addressing 50,000 spectators at Tiananmen Square and in the presence of 26 world leaders, President Xi Jinping noted how the Chinese people made significant contributions to save human civilization and in the defense of world peace with huge sacrifices in the war. He also called upon leaders and nations to "eliminate the root cause of war and prevent historical tragedies from recurring."

"Humanity is again faced with a choice of peace or war, dialogue or confrontation, and win-win outcomes or zero-sum games," Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed in his speech.

Japan's fascist aggression started in 1931, years before what Western societies assume as the beginning of World War II, with the German invasion of Poland. The Japanese officially surrendered on September 2nd, 1945.

Diplomatic solutions to all disputes are preferred as the “failed military aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime has shown that military options are ineffective and will face the heroic resistance of the Iranian people,” Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said.
