A recent controversial TV interview of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu provoked outrage in Arab nations and grassroots movements over his remarks about the 'Greater Israel' project.

The “Greater Israel” vision is an expansionist project, by which Israel aims to spread its control throughout the territories extending from the Nile to the Euphrates. The project, which is based on biblical myths, encompasses the territories of six Arab countries in addition to occupied Palestine, including Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia.

The foreign ministers of 31 Arab countries, including Syria, along with the secretary-generals of the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) issued a joint statement on Friday, strongly condemning the provocative remarks of the Israeli premier.

“Every person here has a choice,” Khalil declared. “Stay quiet and normalize our killing, or rise, and demand liberation.”
